    2006 L322 3.0TD6 diesel lift pump.

Hi Darrell, I bought both pumps off eBay, the lift pump I bought was listed for a BMW 3.0 Diesel and is linked earlier ion this thread. The inline pump I bought was listed as suitable for my 2006 TD6 Range Rover. Here's a link to the pump and person I bought my inline pump off:- Landrover...

    2006 L322 3.0TD6 diesel lift pump.

When my pump started to fail it did cause the gearbox to hang on to gears and kicking down one or more gears at the slightest hill or impediment. This was due to insufficient fuelling causing a lack of power to pull the higher gears. Don't know if this is your problem, but you will find out once...

    2006 L322 3.0TD6 diesel lift pump.

Hi Darrel, The two fault codes you mention are the same two codes I had on my vehicle and, judging by you symptoms, I would suspect the in line fuel pump to be the culprit of your non starting issue. The pump is easy to get at to check whether it is running, being housed just in front of the...

    2006 L322 3.0TD6 diesel lift pump.

Just a quick update to confirm the replacement pump is working just fine,. The original one must have been failing over time, as it is a lot quieter in the cabin now. Never noticed the pump noise increasing, so it must have been happening gradually.

    2006 L322 3.0TD6 diesel lift pump.

Not that long, although I took my time and worked through it methodically. All in all about an hour and half to get her running again and then another half hour to tidy up & reinstate the trim etc. Hardest part was connecting the pipes to the other side of the tank, in the end installed the...

    2006 L322 3.0TD6 diesel lift pump.

I have received the replacement pump and it is identical, apart from a small alignment bulge. This does not affect the fitment of the pump in the slightest. I have installed the pump and my Range Rover is back to rude good health.

    2006 L322 3.0TD6 diesel lift pump.

I have eventually tracked this down NEW diesel in tank FUEL electric pump for bmw | eBay Looks identical to the original, is suitable for 3.0D BMW engines, so think this solves the petrol/diesel compatability worry. I am going to order one now and will update on whether this does the trick or...

    2006 L322 3.0TD6 diesel lift pump.

Yeah I know what you mean, the risk is an over pressure occurring and causing a leak. However as this is a diesel, there is very little risk of a fire as the ignition source would have to be very hot indeed. As far as damaging the engine & or the fuel supply system, again the risk seems small...

    2006 L322 3.0TD6 diesel lift pump.

Thanks, have placed an order with LR Direct for the complete unit, £288.32 delivered. I suspect the Bosch pump you sourced would work, after all this is just a lift pump and as long as it delivers enough fuel to the secondary in line pump, then all should work. As the V8 is more thirsty than the...

    2006 L322 3.0TD6 diesel lift pump.

Thanks for the pointer to the complete unit, I will order one. Would still like to find the source of the actual pump though, that way I would have a spare complete unit sitting in case anyone needed one.

The pump is 43mm in diameter excluding the seating ring bulge and is 141mm long from the top of the outlet port to the bottom of the inlet port.

Sorry but not like that one, it is similar to the one in your fantastic how to on the V8 petrol lift pump however. I can certainly take photos, just need to figure out how to add them to a post. Give me 30 mins or so, and I'll try to figure that out:-))

    2006 L322 3.0TD6 diesel lift pump.

Hi all, I have just suffered a failure of my in tank lift pump. I have removed the complete pump, level sender unit from the tank and removed the actual pump part. It's a Siemens VDO unit with the following part number 005 002 17405 26407 lightly stamped into its casing. Does anyone know where...

    Tow bar electrics

Thanks Hippo, I've just checked that and every plug is securely in place. Checked fuse F6 in the passenger compartment fuse box and it is healthy. I have tried disconnecting the trailer socket wiring and that makes no difference either. Both front & rear PDC sensors were all working fine before...

    Tow bar electrics

Hi guys, I made the mistake of trading in my P38 for an Audi Q7. Have now rectified this monstrous error and got myself a 2006 L322 Vogue 3.0TDI. I have just fitted a tow bar to it. This is a proper Westfalia detachable one and has the proper Range Rover electrics. However on installing it all...

Hi Andy, sorry haven't logged into the forum for a while. I've traded my P38 Autobiography in for a 2006 L322 3.0TDI Vogue and am loving the more modern feel to it. My old P38 was No10 and gave me 2.5 years of faithful service, hope it found someone willing to pamper her as she deserves.

    First timer buying a P38

My tuppence worth says maybe not the best choice for your first car owning experience. get something a little less challenging and then get an Range Rover at a later date (say after a year or so?). There will still be plenty on the market and you will have time to learn more about them and...
