    interior roof paint

i just leave an old towel i the dash and wipe the seats off. Condensation is a common problem in landies. I have seen them lined with various things, one of the better ones was carpet adhered to the roof with carpet spray.....I wouldn't seriously recommend that though.....go canvas, I always...

    Dirty fuel tank

hoover it out with a vaz through the sender gauge hole....sounds like the tank might be degrading though and you will have junk coming off it forever....

    Series 3 kangarooing up hills!

I'd run up a temporary fuel supply (from a can or something) and see how it operates with clean fuel. If its fine. Change the tank. Taking the sender out would also enable yo uto see whats in it. I'd take an airline to the carbs myself, but thats my answer to anything....I don't know what a...

    fitting a galvanised chassis?

thats what i feared.....it sounded like a half sensible option when face with two series threes both with poorish chassis and debating which to spend money shoring up....i can't manage 3 months without a car though!

    fitting a galvanised chassis?

so I have been under one of the series today (project peugeot lets call it) and the rear cross member is sound, may have been replaced, but where it joins the chassis its full of holes. I reckoned it wanted a cross member with extensions (£50 from paddocks) or even one including the spring...

**if this should be in a different area, please let me know and I will move it or at least learn for the future! ** I am after an overdrive selector lever. Mine has snapped (before I owned the car) Let me know if you can help, what you want for it with postage etc...pms are probably easiest...

    Series 3 kangarooing up hills!

It was the fuel line itself I blew through with the airline.....also its worth considering what is the carb side of the fuel pump...are you passing through loads of inlines or anything? Under load and up a slope might be just enough to stop fuel going through, and the float chamber dries out (I...

    Series 3 kangarooing up hills!

check the fuel filter isn't clogged up, the little glass one and any inline ones. You putting clean fuel in it? Pull the fuel sender out and have a look in the tank and see if its full of crap or rust that could be getting dragged into the filters and carb or just blocking the lines. I blew...

To get the wings (well inner wings to be precise) off of a series 3? Mine appear to have filler in them and I'd like to swap them with some spares.....

Land Rover Series 3 on eBay, also, Land Rover, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 23-Jan-08 19:45:00 GMT) not saying you won't have prioblems, but thats not my experience....chances of mine (from horsham) and...

    lpg Series 2

surely if economy is the relevant factor you'd be better off with a diesel. Mine does loads to the gallon....add the cost of veg oil into the equation (see oi pikey and any other veg users thread) and its going to be really quite economical on the pocket....for a land rover. And with it being...

Want to convert series windscreen to one piece

We have a glass place in chichester called brewers and another called parhams..Both of them have produced toughened glass cut to size for a variety of applications for me, so I would suggest trying one of those and also calling someone like autoglass and seeing if they can help recommend a flat...

    perkins identification

It runs nicely, but the documentation etc isn't correct and its not staying around this landy so i'd like to get the information so I can advertise it properly. The series 3 with the landy engine is a rescue from a field, the one with the sherpa is my daily drive, but will fail its MOT most...

    perkins identification

Didn't seem to be a number there on mine, but there did appear to be one further back and scarily not that hard to read.... Looks like 7940103371 at the top with 4K93 02 underneath that and 27 underneath that. Is this the number I need or do I have to try and get the injector pump off?
