How can I make my series lower

Take the top off? Or do you need it on for the work you are doing? I'd get dollies for the wheels if anything you are doing involves you being without power.. If you have power, get some old standard wheels and tyres and run them at very low pressure?

    Towing a series

straight barring it will minimise the risk to yourself and others, but you are stiff running the risk of getting the insurance book chucked at ya if you get stopped. you can hire my trailer for £5.00 but its heavy and miles away. I reckon you'd spend £65 in fuel getting it collected! What...

surely changing a head gasket is less effort than changing the engine.

    Stereos and speakers and things

That does look good stuff, bits its out of my price range unfortunately, bet that roof lining makes the landy a more pleasant environment though :)

    Stereos and speakers and things

My Land rover is actually quiet enough that you could hear a radio in it...so I'd like to know how others have fitted them. My V6 has the stereo slung under teh dash with speakers in specially fabricated mounts that go by the back lights. My Sherpa has a shelf in the roof which could hold...

    windscreen sealing

got my new windscreen seal today, it rained before I had a chance to fit it. Since I have been driving it around for two days I have sort of got used to the small gap where i haven't bolted the screen to the roof....the small gap that today put a fairly neat line of rain across my...

    Series 3 2.5 N/A Range rover diffs ?? Help Please !!

Got them in mine, the taller gearing makes it more driveable on the road, the top end is improved and its quieter than it would be at speed. I have whole range rover axles though, not just the diffs. The acceleration seems good on mine as well although I'm not comparing it to the same landy...

    New toy

petrol series, it can't be that bad, i get 18 to the gallon out of my v8 - except when I am using it to start a series 3 diesel that has sat for 7 years..... My sherpa running veg and diesel got over 30 to the gallon...... If my petrol series 3 is rubish on economy then the french engine is...

    Freewheeling hubs

they do reduce your road noise, but if you use your 4wd frequently can you be bothered with faffing about with your hubs everytime you want 4wd? especially if you are a foot deep i mud when you make the decision. Can't find any for my rangey axles so I don't even need to make the decision.

    Looking for my first Landie

Changing gearboxes isn't a problem if you take it slowly and have an engine crane around. Its not the hardest job to tackle although it is a bit time consuming....hetting a mate to help you would ease you into it even if he just reads the haynes manual - I guess they cover it. Basically its...
