hi, been having problems with my abs playing up so I pulled the fuse, now, when the ignition is on I get a click,,,,,,,click,click noise from fuse box and the check engine light flashes dimly with the clicking, I normally pull the fuse when i'm off roading but never noticed this problem before...

Right, i removed rear bumper which had lights in it, Now the indicators are flashing really fast, I know I can wire a resistor in to the circuit but is there any other way to sort it?

right, swapped starters over, that hasn't solved it,,,,, so, time for plan b, yet again, need to check earth and positive cables are spot on, could it be a tight engine?????

thanks for the replies, it's been like this since I got it a month or so ago, but is now at a point that it will rarely start, jump leads are professional quality, not daft things you get in accessory shops, will be swapping starters over this afternoon, I will post what happens, biggsy...

Right, Its a 300tdi auto, Its really slow turning over, sometimes won't start, Brand new battery and also tried battery off other landy, Just removed starter, Commy was pretty bad so cleaned everything up, Same problem, I connected starter to jump leads to eliminate bad earth or power...

thats the job of the thermostat, to try and keep the engine at a constant temperature wherever and whatever ya doing,

well, just took it out for a test, definitely higher up on the gauge but still not in the middle, my other 300tdi is spot on in the middle, oh well, it will do for now,

what temp did u fit, looking around it seems to be 82 for 200tdi and 88 for 300tdi,

hi, my landy has always ran cool, about a quarter on the gauge, finally got round to fitting a new thermostat, the new one is an 88 degree one, the one i removed was a 75, not sure what they are supposed to have in, gonna try it later today, neil

thanks for that, battery is brand new and I also swapped batteries (got 2 300tdi's) and it was exactly the same, this battery was fine on other one, earths look ok but it can't harm to remove them and check they have a good connection, looking like it's the starter then, cheers, neil

my 300tdi cranks fine when cold, but when warm it cranks real slow, sounds like the battery is flat, i'm pretty sure i remember an old V8 camaro i owned had a similar problem and it was heatsoak in the starter, do you guys think this sounds the possible cause in this situation, cheers, neil

mine did this, turned out to be water in fuel filter, (only had the car a few days), changed fuel filter, perfect since, neil

thanks guys, gonna get stuck into it tomorrow and try and get it sorted once and for all, might even swap starters over, got nowt else to do tomorrow,

it's not flat, just struggles to turn the engine over, the battery is fine, was thinking it might be like a petrol engine when timing is out and trying to fire on say top dead centre instead of 12 btdc,
