SLS raise/lower remote - faking it?

Brilliant idea. In my past life I also coded C for PICs, handy uCs ;-) Does anyone know if the remote is RF or IR, also is it linked to the ECU somehow? If it's a single code and IR two alternative options exist: 1. The PIC could simply fire an IR LED and replicate the code 2. Use a cheapy...

    '2002/3 Rusted headlight screws

Yep, discovered the inserts and the corrosion! Once I located a HUGE driver and a set of mole grips, two heads of the philips screws on top of the headlight unit came spinning off! The third (horizontal) screw next to the rad came out thankfully. So at least I could remove the lamp unit out...

    '2002/3 Rusted headlight screws

Got my eyes on these: Trend Pro Grabit Screw and Bolt Remover 2 Pieces | Screwfix.com But have a feeling looking at the videos they wont bite enough on rusted solid screws, looks good for wood etc. Reckon these would be better due to the volume of thread that grips into the screw, hopefully...

    '2002/3 Rusted headlight screws

Cheers for your suggestions  oh well, got some help arriving today with more tools than the average, so hoping to make some progress. When (being positive) these screws come out I shall replace them with something which has at least some chromium in them (stainless) rather than the...

    '2002/3 Rusted headlight screws

Hi All So, being a Landie she's got the odd bit of rust at the front which causes havoc with screws - the battery clamp was my last saga! However this week it's the 'simple' case or headlight bulb replacement - not so simple! The screws are horrendously rusted with one simply turning...

    TD5 Auto Transmission Temperature Light

That's also what my mech mentioned he'll end up doing!!! Thanks for clarifying :) so does this mean no need to use the 'access panel'? Probably provides more room for manoeuvre by removing the wheel arch anyway :) Done the autobox oil and filter, so might have to do a top after after sensor...

    TD5 Auto Transmission Temperature Light

Whilst reading about the oil cooling system I came across this www.discovery2.co.uk / Gearbox Oil Cooler Pipes a handly sensor access panel, will definately point my mech to this to save some pennies! :)

    TD5 Auto Transmission Temperature Light

I was just about to post exactly the same. My '52 has identical symptoms and I too have been informed that the sensor begins triggering at lower than expected temp. I've bought a new one but the job looks like a bit of a nighmare having to remove all the coolers to get to it. Has anyone any...

The Three Amigos - ABS HDC TC lights

I was also pondering a potential link. I'm carrying out the freebie ground inspection first, then wheel balancing, then will ponder the SVS mod/hub. The code indicates SVS with no other codes across the SLABS or any other unit, well apart from a code 22 on the aircon, something about off-side...

Strange 3 audible "ding-ding-ding" from dash

According the user manual on my Disco 2 it's the ABS self check, I had to look it up too. I have also noticed it doesn't always ding, now I know why, cheers. THh same three dings will be heard if you get the 'Three Amigos' - ABS, HTC and TC lights whilst in motion. Lea

    slight vibration ??

I have EXACTLY the same issue. Between 70 and 75mph it feels like a shudder rather than simple wheel balancing. I tried power on and off and it doesn't seem to make much difference. Will be getting wheels balanced first as this is the least expensive and as she wasn't serviced since 50K I...

The Three Amigos - ABS HDC TC lights

Cleared the SVS fault and another 300 miles, no lights this time, last week I got 3 in 5 miles. SVS is so intermittent. Will be checking the grounds and pins first.
