    Water Proofing A Petrol Engine

When you say grill, is that the radiator grill at the front? Doesn't that restrict the airflow over the rad and cause over heating? Or do you just cover it when you go wading?

    Water Proofing A Petrol Engine

I was wondering if there were any tanking kits available, or if there is a set routine for water proofing a petrol V8. I liked the idea of changing to a desil engine, but seems like a lot of work, plus I have LPG fitted with is a damn site cheaper!!

    Where to look?

The ones that don't get sold for restoration (autotrader, ebay etc.) probably get broked! Get more for them!

How do you Identify a Radiator

That does look remarkably similar to mine. I'm going to have a go at put some picks of it up here... I have no idea how this happened!! I can’t see how some thing could have come from the engine (as this is the side that faces the engine) to do this, unless something hit the fan. On a...

How do you Identify a Radiator

I Have a S3 109" with a retro fitted 3.5V8. This happened before I got it. The rad blew on me a few weeks ago and so now I need to buy a new one. I've pulled the blown one out. I don't think who ever fitted the engine fitted the V8 rad (as I'm told that some fabrication is needed to get it to...

Anyone know where I could lay my hands on a Radiator today?

I decided to drive my landy to work today, and the rad developed an allergy to water, and decided to spit it all out!! I haven't looked for the cause yet, I just got it recovered home and drove my everyday car to work. I need to get hold of a reconed or new one today if possible. I live in...

Why is a Hoop set so expensive?

I have just been looking at hoop sets for my 109", and was rather shocked to see that Paddocks are selling them for just under £382 including VAT. I know they are galvanised, but other than that, how can they justify the price? I'm sure that it can be justified, otherwise someone else would be...

    Buying an exempt log book?

I've seen this a few times now, where people sell the V5, chassis plates and number plates. What’s the idea with this? And how legal is it? I can see that, hypothetically, you could have a 80" series i landrover, and bit by bit replace parts from a series iii, so that eventually you would...

What tyres should you NOT use for greeen laning?

After my "getting stuck in my own front garden" fiasco (see relevant thread!), I was thinking about getting some better off-road tyres. At the moment I have the BF Goodrich Allterrains. However, I have seen people mention that you aren't supposed to have big chunky tyres to go green laning in...

    Hi-lift jacks

"4,660 lbs (2113.74 kg) rated capacity" On the log book mine goes 2700kg! I know you won't be lifting the entire weight on one jack, but I just thought I'd mention it! So what would you use this for? To change your wheel? How would I change my wheel if I didn't have one of these...

What doors would fit my '73 109"?

I just picked up a pair of doors for £15, with one lot of spare glass to boot! And a rear door for £10 The drivers door neds a lick of welding, but other than that they are all spot on! I've also managed to get 8 or 9 wheels and good tyres, steering box with virtually no play (with some...

How abou using mapmyride.com for green lanes?

The Right of way officer just emailed me a table of the status of routes in beds, and it aprears the closure has been permanent since 1974! Apparently they close them for seasons, as a vehicle would churn up the byway in the wet months. Sometimes they don't open them again!

How abou using mapmyride.com for green lanes?

Just spoke to the ROW officer and found out that the BOATs about a mile from my house are permanently closed! Pity! He advised that in the spring try the north of bedfordshire as there is quite a good network up there. Looks like I might be buying more maps!

What doors would fit my '73 109"?

I thought I had added it to my profile. Must of done something wrong.

What doors would fit my '73 109"?

Embarrassingly enough I still am not sure what series my landy is! I think it's a 3. That said, what doors would fit it? would I be able to use doors from a series 1, 2, 3, and a defender? Or would I have to get series 3 doors?

How abou using mapmyride.com for green lanes?

Ok, I have OS maps on order. I also found that streetmap.co.uk uses OS maps at a certain zoom (and the OS site it's self gives you a map you can see online too) which showed me that there are a few lanes about a mile from where I live! So now I know where these lanes are, I have to contact the...
