    leaking disco sunroofs

Fixed mine a couple of months ago. Both were leaking whenever it rained - I'd get water through the manual handle's lock switch, and other areas like down the passenger seatbelt (made for an annoyed wife!). I did two things to fix it: Ran a bead of exterior silicone sealant (Sikaflex) round...

    Banish those amigos!

When I disconnect the ABS modulator, will much fluid come out? Should I cover up the sockets on the modulator side? (If so, how?) I presume I'll need to bleed the system after. I think I can use the Hawkeye for that. Do I have to remove the wheels etc and do a full bleed, or is there a shortcut...

    Banish those amigos!

Well after 2 hours of attempting to remove the SVS I have admitted defeat - the centre hex screw just will not come out, and I've damaged the screw's head from trying. The only way now will be to remove the whole ABS unit and get it on a bench so I can try and remove the screw without further...

    Banish those amigos!

So after buying a hawkeye I find the shuttle valve switch to be at fault (code 4114, a.k.a 11.4, a.k.a shuttle valve switch electrical fault) - which is good, at least compared to the cost of wheel hub replacement! My plan was to try the 'option B' fix of soldering the wires directly to...

Help finding part (passenger toe board)

Ah right that explains why I'm having trouble finding it! Thanks! Sounds like ebay or a breaker would be my best bet. Don't need it enough to pay much for it anyway.

Help finding part (passenger toe board)

My landy is missing a passenger 'toe board', and I can't find a replacement part anywhere for it. Perhaps the problem is my search terms are wrong - I've tried passenger toe board, kick board, footwell panel, I've tried browsing sites like Rimmer Bros - you'd expect it to be under 'Interior...

    Heated Front Screen

Switch (part no YUG102550), relay (part no YWB101300), Hawkeye/nanocom to enable function on the BCU- that's what you'll need. I've looked in to doing this myself if the two chips I have in my current non-heated windscreen turn out not to be repairable.

    Removing D2 dash vents

Repair successful. Some aluminium bar and a small plastic gear did the trick :-)

    Removing D2 dash vents

Nice one, cheers! I'll have a quick try at repairing the existing one tonight, but if I fail or the repair is rubbish will gladly take you up on that. Postage would be cheap as I'm only in Stalybridge/Manchester

    Removing D2 dash vents

Its not the centre one - its the one between the steering wheel and the window, i.e. driver's side end-of-dash one ;)

    Removing D2 dash vents

Well I managed it quite easily in the end - after 30 mins struggling with screwdrivers/penknives, I did in in under a minute with the handles of two teaspoons. The trick is to lever out one side first (I did the left/steering-wheel side first), leave the teaspoon in place, and lever out the...

    Removing D2 dash vents

Once I searched properly I found this: http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f8/remove-dash-air-vent-271381.html Can give the credit-card trick a try, sounds fiddly though!

    Removing D2 dash vents

Seems like a stupidly basic thing to ask for advice on, but I'd like to pull out the driver-side dash vent WITHOUT BREAKING it. I can see on the online images of it that there are 4 metal clips that might snap off if I just use brute force. I've had a try and can only budge it a little bit...

Just bought my first Discovery 2 :) info and pics inside. Also some help wanted :)

Oh and if you want chunky tires, might be worth holding on until July as BFGoodrich are releasing the new All Terrain 2 tyre. Those could be nice.

Just bought my first Discovery 2 :) info and pics inside. Also some help wanted :)

As for undersealing - I've been looking into this too as I've just bought my first disco 2 and it needs treating. Waxoyl seems to be the way forward. Top end professional prices seem to be about £500 which is a hell of a lot. It needs wire brushing, steam cleaning preferably with degreasing...

    Indicator wiring problem

I actually glued it back together again after assembling the orange jigsaw. Gives me more time to sort a replacement. Was quite surprised how easily it shattered really!

    Indicator wiring problem

The real disappointment was when I crushed the indicator assembly while trying to push it back in! And it was working all along! Pay to learn :-)

    Indicator wiring problem

Ahhh so that is working as intended then? I just thought it was strange to see the orange light permanently on when I power up the sidelights, I expected it to flash with the indicator. I think the real issue is that the opposite side's bulb has died, so on the O/S I have a working indicator...

    Indicator wiring problem

The front indicator assembly contains a main bulb and a little side-pointing bulb (I don't mean the separate side repeater unit) This bulb is somehow wired into my sidelights, so it comes on with my sidelights and not the actual indicator. Not quite sure where to look here - the wiring...

    Warning lights during braking

Some updates: 1) leaky sunroof problem gone away - suspect I didn't close it properly 2) Jiggled about yellow wires under both front seats. SRS warning light not come on in a few days now, so problem gone away. 3) Jiggled about the ABS module and it's connectors, and each individual ABS sensor...
