I bought it with coils, it's in good nick aside from the usual niggles, but the plan is to convert back to air as soon as the weather improves, assuming it does , it still has all the parts for the EAS and I'm not sure why it was converted, no doubt I will find out :-)

Passed MOT no advisories, it's on coils ( I know that's not ideal) no issues at all, I've done lots of work since I bought it early last year , lots of advice from here so all good for now :)

It sounds very similar to the problem I had with my 2000 4.6 ! Got it diagnostics, coil pack and MAF sensor.

I have Koni heavy trax shocks on mine, superb , originals were shot when I bought it.

If you have done that, then you can tackle the diff's, before draining make sure you can undo the level plugs, auto gearbox fluid and filter change is not difficult again make sure you can undo the level plug before draining, as Dos says the exciting bit is checking auto fluid level, I burnt...

I've emailed the seller and asked for pics of the engine, just for the hell of it and to prevent someone being had.

Did mine yesterday, easy job but a little messy, the brackets on the corners of the sump near the cross member are a bit of fiddle, I also undid the centre bolt on the cross member which makes it easier to remove the sump.

22mpg is good, best I get is 18 from 4.6 V8, when I bought mine one rear caliper was sticking although jacking it up when cold did not reveal the problem, jacking up when hot did.

When I bought my 4.6 average was 12 ! Service, new plugs, leads and replacement of the coil packs it now averages 18, non motorway driving , I don't boot it though.

4.6 no LPG best I've seen after brim to brim is 19, country lanes 17
