as far as i know there is know cat test on diesels just a soot/smoke test i run a 200bhp 1.9cdti astra van as well as the disco and that past its mot last week with EGR blanked off, pre cat and cat removed so just a back box. past flying with colours so cant see why a tractor engine wont :)...

It is after the intercooler so clogs the inlet manifold instead and also all that lovely hot air goes straight into the inlet making the intercooler kind of pointless

Hi thinking of putting a td5 intercooler into my 1995 300tdi Can some 1 tell me what the dimensions of 1 are i'm after core size and overall size trying to work out if it is going to be a worth while upgrade or weather to go the aftermarket route

if its getting fuel and all the plugs are all ok not much else it can be have you checked that you have compression?

any 1 else wish to tell me what they think?

that seems steep what company u with? i was still 19 when i got my 300tdi and i think mine was £1400 fully comp and that was on a 300tdi valued at over 7 grand

i made 2 mdf boxes for my 2 6x9's and placed then in the back behind each seat behind the bulkhead i dont put alot of stuff in my back of mine put i can see it being a problem if u did

if there both standard defender engines the 300 will have about 8bhp more not that u can really tell people say the 200 is easier to work on but i cudnt tell u as i've not had any problems with my 300 other than a split heater hose! the 300 is quieter than the 200 it still makes a racket tho...

maybe he likes having no power and it sounding like a tractor? my dad re-ringed his 2.5 turbo and had a brand new port polished head and i still think its sick as hell and so does he becuase it is lol get a 300tdi disco engine in it lad

and haynes says 111bhp doesnt mean its rite? rover will probly know 4 sure sum engine are better than others anyway the figure give is just a rough guess around where most engines will be i bet my 300 hasnt got 111bhp any more

just fitted new seals to my 300 and sealed up the front bulkhead no water gets in now unless i go swiming :P altho with new seals u really have to slam the door 2 shut it untill the settle in abit

103bhp figure comes from my mate who used to be head of servicing at epson land rovers and he got it from offical rover release i had this conversation with him just last week cuz my mate (another 1 yes i have atleast 2) was puzzled y i pull away from him on the A1 when we get going over 60mph

another thing i wud like to sort out only the late 1998 and 1997 models of 300tdi have any electronics on them at all and that was a simple egr to improve emissions which you can remove so many people seem to think they have its annoying
