could it be a loose fan aswell, as in a bolt loose that means it doesnt spin quite right/isnt aligned?

have you tried powering it up by connecting the wires coming out of the heater to the battery?mine just had a dodgy connection. At lest if it doesnt blow when you do this you know it's the blower that's dead not just a bad connection!

just to say, it would probably be worth giving the bolts a good soaking with wd40 or similar overnight there's a lot of crap thrown up underneath that can be a problem, of course it depends on how dirty it is!

Yep dead easy! Mine blew and i had the indignity of being recovered home! Doesnt take long at all, just watch for fluid up on top of the crossmember dripping down as you reach over it. Wear glasses/goggles to be safe!

Does it need to be a restoration place? any decent welder should be able to replace them, its all fairly straight cuts and welds to replace, you'd probably just have to pay the hourly labour rate, some are even mobile. Has the front legs on my series replaced for 80 quid

found out last night that if you remove the cover on the master cylinder and use a LARGE screwdriver to activate the master cyl. it was possible to activate it and reach down and turn the bleed nipple on the slave from above. just go off how many miles you do for a full tank, when you get near to the milage, fill it up again, worked for years on me old ax! keep a bit of extra fuel in the back just incase!

Drill a couple o holes at the back of the tub, park on a slope and let the water drain out! Dont leave important papers in there, they get all mushy!

taint sloppy! it engages just fine he's on about when he tried to put it into first he hit reverse!

tis my landrover he's asking about! Yes it takes a while to get used to lining up where first is but it engages fine and has never jumped out of gear etc. Just dont go too far left as it is reverse, as it is an old design too, would something like this warrant a £700 drop in asking price...
