    P38 expansion tank cap.

My P38 has had a plethora of cooling leaks and now the system appears to be over pressurised and loosing coolant. I decided to change the expansion tank cap and as the new one had a pressure of 140 on it and the old 200 I am hoping this will solve the problem. Any ideas as to the correct cap...

    4.6 HSE auto gearbox issues?

The gearbox was cold and the engine idling. I moved from park all through the gears then back to park before checking the transmission dipstick.

    4.6 HSE auto gearbox issues?

Hi, I'm getting a strange noise and engine retarding feeling on lift off of the throttle when I let the car coast also occasionally when I step on the gas lightly there is a jerk on the transmission during take up or on the occasional gear change. The transmission fluid has been checked and is...

    Gems throttle pre heater

Thanks for your help Malcolm its appreciated. I need to go to landrover any way to pick up some new trim fasteners post dashboard removal / refit. I will probably wait until payday and then bite the bullet and take the hit. Until then I think I'll rebuild with my makeshift gasket idea.

    Gems throttle pre heater

That was supposed to read using hylomar as a gasket.

    Gems throttle pre heater

It's the one I bought from coincidently the same website. The one on my plenum is much larger with 4 bolts and two pipes which looks similar which is how I made the mistake. The coolant is flowing out the rear bolts on mine. After my heater o-ring replacement I thought my coolant leak problems...

    P38 Nudge Bar Brackets

I gave the spareset away on a set of nudge bars I sold however I'm manufacturing another set in the next few weeks. The only issue for cost is the flexane I have to buy to mould on the side brackets. I forgot how expensive flexane is. Once I've finished them I'll let anybody who is interested...

    Gems throttle pre heater

Hi I ordered a throttle heater gasket / repair kit supposedly for all p38 v8 models but I'm assuming there must be a difference between the Thor throttle heater and Gems as what arrived doesn't resemble what's attached to my plenum. Other than a main stealer does anyone know where I can source...

    autologic / faultmate ????/

I forgot to add. Multi licence fault mate loaded for a P38 cost me about £1200 with all p38 modules bar the BECM reprogramme module which I believe (someone correct me if I'm wrong) is the only system to reprogramme the BECM's logic. That's an extra £700 Hope I've been of some help.

    autologic / faultmate ????/

I've recently enquired about a Autologic for Land Rovers, here was their reply. I ended up getting a multi licence faulmate with all modules needless to say. Lol Dear Aaron, Many thanks for your enquiry. Our Land Rover Autologic system covers all models from 1989 through to 2011.* The price...

    P38 GEMS Plenum

Mate, I was only playing. Everytime there is a possibility of kids I think of the advert with the kid throwing a tantrum in a supermarket about not getting any sweets. There is the awkward looking father and cue the product. Condoms. Eventually all German girls will treat you as though your...

    P38 GEMS Plenum

Thanks. I think I've just nailed the problem. I've mis read the workshop manual and it's actually just the throttle body heater jacket inlet leaking. I just need to source a replacement spares package and I think I'm sorted. Thanks again Malcolm. I'm hoping this will put to bed all my faults for...

    P38 GEMS Plenum

Advice would be preferable but whatever floats your boat. I see you live in Germany RASHEED. I lived there for 10 years and married and divorced a German girl for my sins. I seem to remember being told if you couldn't pull an English girl why not marry a German. Lol

    P38 Nudge Bar Brackets

Hi, After chasing some P38 Nudge bar brackets and bolts, I'll finally get my hands on some tomorrow. This got me thinking. I've got the facilities to manufacture some at work and I was considering putting some Mounting kits including brackets, bolts and spacers together. Does anyone think this...

    New P38 owner.

Hi Steve, Thanks mate, As its a third vehicle its a little bit of a hobby horse for me. Its my first RR and I never seen myself owning one as obviously being a soldier I've used LR's off and on road for years but it appears some strange bug has bit me and for all its faults I want to nurture it...

    New P38 owner.

Lol, I'll be ok. Any spanner bending I've got nailed down as RR's are simple next to the Aircraft I strip for a living and I'm fortunate enough to have a good friend on the inside at Land Rover Gaydon for any spares issues. I think this P38 could stretch that friendship though so it looks like...

    P38 GEMS Plenum

Hi After tackling my first job (Heater Core O-Rings) in the first weeks of ownership I've tracked down another coolant leak at the water jacket inlet to the Plenum on a GEMs engine. Has anyone seen this one before as I was wondering whether its a readily available gasket before I strip the Bad...

    New P38 owner.

Hi, I've just bought a P38 to tow my better halves horse box and kicked off my ownership by removing the dash and changing the heater core o-rings. So I guess I thought a Land Rover forum is going to be the best place to be as I think I'll be absorbing good info like a sponge. lol. So Hello to...
