as the title , have a 1960 series 2 petrol engine , starts on the button , can be heard running , £100 , series 2 gearbox , has a landrover reconditioned number plate on it , £60 , sereis 2 chassis , ( needs a new rear crossmember and some a few patchches/welding etc , but is usable...

Hi all , I have a series 2 88" , is there any way I can find the build date from the vin /id plate/number?' It is registerd 14/04/1960, is there a chance it could of been built before 1960, As want to find out if it qualifies for the new pre 1960 mot rules:)

Hi all, Building a series hybrid with a 3.9 efi with auto box , the radiator is too wide to fit in , Is there a radiator out there of other landrovers that will fit , or what have others done when doing this conversion Many thanks

have repaired bulkhead now , beeded 2 door pillars and 2 footwells and few other bits repaired , still needs a bit of finishing before i prime , paint it porperly but nealry there,

I will join series 2 forum as will help identify it (think i will keep quiet about the rangy chassis on there lol) the cut down rangy chassis is just a temporary thing really , as its going to take at least a year for me to sort the original chassis /engine etc.. out , thanks for advice

chassis is quite rotten , it probably needs a new one TBH , but that doesn't matter for the moment , as i have a cut down rangy chassis i was going to put the shell on, as i only use this for off road only, so it doesn't matter , but i will be restoring the original chassis,engine etc....

to be honest i do not know enough about them to be sure it is a 2a , i just remember when i bought it , it being called a 2a , year is 1960, thanks
