    No comms with EAS ECU

NEWS!! I have doe exactly what you said, before you told me, granted, but exactly the same way! I completely disconnected both of the white connectors as they were totally shot at and hey presto, the laptop now talks to the EAS. However, it firstly said that all the valves were stuck open...

    No comms with EAS ECU

Right well I've found the connectors you were talking about and the one with more wires in it is very badly corroded indeed. There are two ports which are so badly corroded it has almost dissolved the wiring. When I chop and join them do I do both plugs? Do you happen to know what all...

    No comms with EAS ECU

Thank you, I'll grab some tomorrow. I can't see anything within the obd connector so I don't know if it needs replacing. Ill try the cleaner first, how does it work?

    Rattling front windows

Hey guys, as title suggest my front windows are really rattling when in any other position than closed. What is it and how can I fix it? Something to do with the guides?

Ok, any recommendation on contact cleaner? Maplin? I'd rather remove and solder. Can you get new obd sockets and do the same with that?

    No comms with EAS ECU

Thank you. I'm guessing it will demonstrate green corrosion as opposed to rust?

    No comms with EAS ECU

No I didn't, sorry. I thought you meant the obd. Ill check it tomorrow. What kind of connector is it? Big, small, lots of wires or just a few? Thanks for all this help. This is a brain frazzler. Well it was hot, and I would say excessively hot for a 5a relay. Like its been active a lot...

    No comms with EAS ECU

Just inspected the timer relay and inside there is a 5a relay. I touched it and it's very hot. Is this normal? This is with the ignition off and the system connections as stock. No obd connection. Just as it came from the factory!

    No comms with EAS ECU

Ok advice noted. I've taken the obd plug out of the panel and inspected it but I simply cannot see into the pin holes to look for corrosion. I've tried again to establish comms but no joy. The obd code reader I have communicates fine and return errors or no errors when connected, but this was...

    No comms with EAS ECU

You mean the look at the EAS ECU? Just taken a look at the obd connector and it looks fine, no corrosion although water has been getting in but nearer to the door. I'm going to wd40 it and see if that helps. The eas acu wiring is stock, there are no links between any of the wires, and yes I've...

Thanks for the info! Ok so where is the timer relay and what does it look like? Ill check for corrosion tomorrow as I'm not in the Rangey today.

If that is indeed the case, i have no idea what to look for!!

    No comms with EAS ECU

I assume it hasn't as I'm still getting the SLOW:35MPH on the dash. Plus all the wiring looks original as it is. Please bear in mind that I bought it with the EAS disconnected at the ECU and manual shrader valves on it. The previous owner told me it was due to the RR rising and then fallig on...

    No comms with EAS ECU

Ive decided to start a new thread about this issue as it now become a slightly different problem to the original post. A bit of history. Bought the OBD lead, USB adaptor and EAS Unlock software from eBay (although the software was freeware). plugged it into my windows 7 machine and no comms...

    Odd head failure issue?

Thanks for the info, ill have a dig. Back to my engine issues. Day before yesterday I dropped all the coolant and left it empty for 24 as instructed. This is to allow the ceramic sealer to harden. If you're going to do this remember to disconnect the pipes from: The inlet manifold (top...

    Odd head failure issue?

Thank you very much. Well I WOULD have finished the process today if the damn thing hadn't decided to purge every last dreg of its battery power overnight :violent: Therefore I've been marooned at home until my friend rescued me with a nice Transit van to jump from....need one of those jump...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

After what this RR has been through I think a jumpstart is the least of its concerns. :D
