thanks for the photo John. i've had a look and i can't see or feel any holes behind the roof lining. i think i might have to try and remove some of the lining to see behind. it looks like the plastic brackets themselves also protrude some way through the lining.

Does anyone know how to fit a dog guard to a P38. i have the brackets and it looks like they might fix to the roof but i cant see any fixings in the roof to attach them to. i don't want to destroy the roof lining or worse still, the roof. thanks

i need to change the front and rear pads and discs on my 2001 p38. the manual i have downloaded mentions a LR service tool used to push the pistons back into the calipers. does anyone know if this is really required or can it be done without the service tool?
