Refurb kit is only for damper on VCU on flea bay. Expensive at that! Looks like VW Westfalia synchro (vanagon in US - where's my vanagon????) used same VCU manufactured by Steyr Daimler Puch. On SDP website it even states they manufacture for freelander from 1997 Steyr Daimler Puch All Wheel...

Dropped my prop shaft not long ago and it was quite straightforward. You ony need one front and one rear wheel jacking to turn the shaft. 17mm open ender at rear as there is no room to get a ring spanner on. 13mm socket or ring at front. Rave advises not to drop VCU first under any circumstances...

Got 160K on my 300tdi auto and get close to 30 regular. Cold weather and short journeys knock it down though! Been told it'll get better when it gets run in proper :-)

Can help with pic of location. Sensor resistance is usually higher when engine coolant is cold - can't help further though. Relatively cheap to replace especially after the trouble you've had. Good luck.

6.8 litres with filter change according to my h'book. Strange that, I've seen 1/2 and 1 litre mobil 1 - maybe only in europe?

Got a 300tdi at 160K with mobil1 passport from new. Regular change every 5K. Starts no heaters, uses no oil. Mings right - change the oil regular on a deisel and the filter as recommended. Pollen filter costs a bomb, I believe? Anyone met anyone allergic to a fl ?? :-)
