    Disco 2 Rear Disks

I've got the same problem with ours - changed the rear discs a few weeks ago and the pads/discs were absolutely plastered in grease. It went into LR main dealers to have some warranty work done - mentioned it to them and they weren't interested and passed it through MOT!! Asked what will happen...

Disco 2 Rear calipers shot - overhaul or Bearmach ?

I don't know what Land Rover were thinking when they build these - common sense, basic engineering and design thought out the window in exchange for money scrimping. They weren't cheap when new either - obviously a company in trouble at the time. Even the brake lines corrode (had one fail in...

Disco 2 Rear calipers shot - overhaul or Bearmach ?

That's the thing - should I overhaul a genuine caliper (would probably take be a couple days to strip, paint and fit piston) or save the hassle and buy Bearmach for a similar price. Bearmach seem to have good reviews though, unlike britpart! Just want to make sure they have a similar service...

Disco 2 Rear calipers shot - overhaul or Bearmach ?

Finally got round to replacing discs/pads - upon doing the rears I noticed the pistons (along with the wheel bearings ) were knackered. Piston was....well not much left of the piston! Been looking at various sites and I can pick up a set of Bearmach calipers for not a lot - saves the...

    Discovery 2 TD5 - brake questions

There isn't much choice! Paddock spares have the whole set for £140 which seems cheap - mintex. Apart from mintex I'm struggling - seem to be plenty grooved discs around, but these would be fairly pointless on a disco! One other question if anyone knows - are the rear pistons push in or twists...

    Discovery 2 TD5 - brake questions

Hello, First time poster! My dads 2004 landmark is due MOT shortly and noticed his discs and pads are right on the limit (front and back)! I do my own brakes - have an Audi with quattro and electronic handbrake which is a nightmare! I'm guessing the old landy is a breeze in comparison ? What...
