Alternator Fault code after new alternator installed

There isn't an any additional plugs connected to the alternator which may have been left off or an additional ground connection, easily done.

    charging voltage!

Have you tried checking the voltage with the engine at idle and at say 2000rpm to see if this makes any difference? Also what have you got switched on when you do this? If you can get your hands on a clamp on ammeter you could see what current you are pulling, it may be that there is something...

Ipod adapter for 1998 Range Rover

I didn't want to replace the head unit but there are some for under £70 with ipod control and that seems pretty reasonable, suppose I could keep the original head unit and put it back in when i sell.

Off the subject slightly, but I used to work for a company and we had products out in service in malaysia, when we attempted to upgrade the sortware on them on a Sunday it wouldnt work, we had to change the date to a Monday to down load it, possibly from the same electronic religious cult as...

Ipod adapter for 1998 Range Rover

Has anyone fitted or no if there is such a thing as an adapter to use with standard head unit in a 1998 2.5 DSE? I don't really want to buy a CD player as most of my music is downloaded now and also I like the idea of keeping things original. I have seen some items that fit into the Cd changer...

    EAS Height?????

Just jad an issue with the EAS on mine. It tended to move up to wading height when if felt like it, eventually came up with EAS fault although the suspension still raised to normal height when started. The fault code showed an over pressure fault, managed to reset it, but it has started to move...

    charging voltage!

Have you tried just removing the cables and cleaning all the contact surfaces at both the alternator and battery? Any resistance there wil lead to a volt drop occuring.

    topping up battery cells

Funnily enough I was in Halfrauds yesterday to get a bottle of DI water (1.49 per litre, should have just got some out of the DI plant at work) and I had a quick look at their prices, £90-£100! I can get most things at trade price through my father in-law but its amazing to see the mark up on...

    topping up battery cells

Topped up with de-ionised water, I'll recheck it again in a day or two, what sort of price is a new battery? Hopefully don't need one but need to prepare my wallet for the shock.

    topping up battery cells

The battery on my P38 went flat last weekend when I was doing a bit of work on it. I had the lights on for a short while and the radio, nothing that I would have thought would drain it totally. Just checked each of the 6 cells today and they are all empty, I would have thought I would have seen...

    p38. coolant in r/h footwell

Excellent Advice. I just noticed a drop of coolent on the drivers footwell this morning. Pulled off the bottom covers from the dash and I could see the start of a leak at the connection to the heater assembly so I assume the O-rings are beginning to perish. One question though, when you...

Quick Heated seat repair. Anyone tried it?

I assume the replacement pad is the elemnt encapsulated in the foam base. What sort of price are these? I was going to put this off till next year and just wear an extra pair of kegs till I got this fixed. If you get the chance take a couple of photos when you do it, I've got a good idea how...

Quick Heated seat repair. Anyone tried it?

The resistance of the elements is that low that a short across one would not cause much of a difference in power. The elements are burried inside the seat, and the seats need to be removed and stripped down to find the breaks and repair them, it's a job to do at the warmer times of year. A...

Quick Heated seat repair. Anyone tried it?

The heated elements i both my front seats are open circuit but the lumbar one's are ok. I have considered shorting out the broken element at the plug to get some heat from the lumbar element until I can repair them next summer. Has anyone tried this? Looked on another forum and they mention...
