yea i think Karlos28 is right if there is no play and no marks on the housing then your ok but having the damage on the fins they are weak and pieces may break off under pressure

yea i know how people are . they all want it but just dont want to pay :mad: if it doesnt make a diffrence when you disconnect it then the egr may be stuck open and you should block it off

yes the have the little spring on the pedal but its still harder than the 300tdi . the servo looks good but very expensive

hey i have a 110 td5 defender and the clutch is much stiffer than all the 300tdi defenders we have . we have pulled the box and checked the clutch ,fork , pressure plate etc. it looked like all were recently replaced but it was dry (no grease on shaft , fork ) so we greased it up changed the...

well i think ive also found the "kickdown " problem i was checking the strainer in the fuel pressure regulator and when i refitted it the disco wouldnt start so i opend the fuel filter (it looked good ) but i still couldnt get it to stars after many attempts of bleeding so i changed the fuel...

it depends on where it blew if it was the core area then corrosion, but if the plastic or rubber seal between the core and ends then its just the weakest link

it sounds like a short in the wiring .check plugs and fuse and also relays

change the fuel pump . yesterday i removed the pressure regulator from my disco and the fuel filter and it woulndt start after (after many attempts of bleeding ). i had a used pump and i thought i would try it , and it started first try:suspicious:

Airlock? Broken cap? Broken disco? maybe What is the fill level on a 300tdi in the header tank. I can't see no marks should be half filled where the tank is joined

bet to follow james advice (check oil for contamination )and rule out the gearbox first . then you could drive it

it could be the release bearing on the clutch , the bearing may have heated up while pulling the other vehicle and the grease may have dried up

does it make any attempt to start while cranking ?? did you adjust the injectors properly after install ( all the way down and back it off one turn ) ? did you try holding the accelerator pedal all the way down while cranking it ?

sometimes you can get away without calibrating it . ive done it before
