    transfer box info needed

I've fitted a few t boxes on my own on the floor and just lifted em on manually It's great till they don't line up and the old arm fatigue sets in

I'm assuming you are referring to the position dowel Yep sometimes tight either comes away with tbox or stays put on gearbox hence why you noticed it missing It slides into a machined pocket in the alloy so doubt that is the leak I would clean the areas thoroughly in order to pin point any leak...

Worth rebuilding the starter motor ?

My local auto electrician recons tons of starters for me but mine are usually fkd by the fuel valve dripping diesel on em causing the dredded clonk non start I would ask your local guy for a price to sort it, should be a cheap fix in most cases

Td5 dash into tdi, handbreak light on dash..

The white/ green wire in the td5 dash harness comes in via plug and runs to a spliced joint separating to individual wire feeds for speedo, fuel and temp supplies I'd look closely at it as spliced joints are notoriously **** Running the battery feed will help eliminate it

Td5 dash into tdi, handbreak light on dash..

The green sender should read correct for you but at this rate my td5 gauges are getting fitted this weekend so hopefully I'll be able to compare my readings

Td5 dash into tdi, handbreak light on dash..

I wonder if the positive ign feed is part of the issue Can you remove the white/green ign on wire power supply from temp gauge and run a new wire from battery positive temporarily to the temp gauge Then try the accuracy of the gauge once engine is warmed up Also try lights and heater to see if...

Td5 dash into tdi, handbreak light on dash..

Earths are good Presume all the earth pins are good for gauges, there's 2 black and one black grey? Worth making sure any crimped terminals are good with no excess insulation etc Namely on the temp gauge wire rework just in case there's resistance issues

    Rear Door Wheel Carriers

I've got a mantec and it's spot on, had 4 over the years, shop around I got one off eBay new and it was cheaper than mantec themselves, questioned it but was given the wall of ignorance, think they rest on their laurels cos they're so popular The standard defender carriers on later td5 and puma...

Defender Tdci bulkhead on a 300 tdi

Moving forwards my td5 clocks are ready to mount Looking forward to the weekend Feeling somewhat lighter in the wallet but the row spec rev counter is the best bit I opted for a DT deutsch 12 way waterproof connector from eBay, can't recommend this connector enough, easy to build and good...

Defender 90 cubby box - extra small

No pics of install but I'll try and get some more pics in the daylight which due to work might be the weekend but here's another couple I've already got It involves cutting off the lower section including the rear pull out cup holders If you decided on this kind of thing it's best to get a...

Defender 90 cubby box - extra small

Maybe not the simplest but I fitted a discovery 3 cubby as I'm running a disco gearbox which sits the gearstick further back Had to trim it down but wasn't a major job

Probem with handbrake lever not dropping fully

Yep try the adjustment at cable It really is simple to undo that lever as jamesmartin says... Adjust it and don't forget to adjust on handbrake backplate if required

Probem with handbrake lever not dropping fully

What model? Is it lt77 or r380 If it's lt77 the cable goes to a link then on into drum backplate, slipper pads get dirty and old grease hardens, a strip down might show more R380s from 300 Tdi onwards and on current Tdci run a cable straight into back plate Adjustment at lever and backplate...

    Speedo transducer installation

When fitting the transducer to certain tboxes the speedo drive gear square hole can vary For some the hole is too big and the square peg on the transducer can spin within the gear drive Wonder if that is what's going on with yours

My first landy and first job get the heater working!

From what I remember the later motors are build up as a non serviceable part with no fixings that come apart think they used rivets or similar? Break these off and take a look inside If the spindle is rusted clean it back with emery paper or a fine file Tad of grease and reassemble with...
