Yup side specific, the adjusters go on the leading edge of the shoe so the right hand side will be top right and botton left as you look at it, left hand side will be top left and bottom right. You could clock them to make bleeding the brakes easier, this involves turning the backplate...

Cos the front prop and diff still spin but are powered by the wheels which adds some resistance. FWH are supposed to improve fuel efficiency (arguments for and against) but the main benefit is they stop the front diff from whining :)

Depends where it is, but holes tend to grow so I'd fix it either way :)

Try classic land rover magazine, it has private ads and is also a good read. Truck cabs are pretty desirable at the minute but if you keep an eye out you'll get one for the right price - remember it's coming up to winter so 4x4 prices rocket. As does the price of hard tops due to soft top owners...

Can you weld? If so you can get replacement sections of frame to weld in.

Also looking at the rear wheel arches I'd say that was a series tub - I rekon somebody stuck a series body on a rangerover chassis to get coil springs, then stuck a 110 front end on to make it look like a later model - a poor mans defender of you will. Should be an interesting rebuild :-)

Yup, looks like you've got a series 3 bulkhead and dash, 110 grill and you say a rangerover chassis - a proper bitsa!

No pics, upload them to photobucket and paste the links :) As for rust, yes and no... the MOT tester will "tap" your chassis with a small hammer - holes near structural points is a fail. On a side note, depending on when the chassis was changed, you may technically have a Range Rover which...

Thanks for all the info, I decided to give this one a miss as I'm not in a rush and while the price is good it doesn't seem to be the bargain of the century :) Will keep an eye on feebay. Also Machine Mart aren't much more expensive. Cheers!

Pop the steering column cover off and check the wiring around the fuse box - the contacts may be corroded

At one point they even take the roof off! I suppose it's like go faster stripes - Land Rovers off road better with the roof off :D

Hmmm, I'd imagine a spray gun will need similar amounts of air to the sand blaster... I may be better off looking for a bigger used one on feebay? It will be the weekend before I can get there so I guess I'll let fate decide - if there's any left in stock then it's meant to be :)
