Does anyone know if there is a annual Overland/Expedition show/fair somewhere in Europe?
Welcome! | Horizons Unlimited does host annual gatherings to share stories, experiences etc. .. but are there any general ones with primary focus on four-wheelers ?

I agree on the Aschcrofts shipping charges. They are outrageous. I live in Denmark and once I've got a new diff shipped in at £90! And a locker at £70! As a comparison .. Paddock shipped four new tires/rims around £50or60 .. I will hesitate using Aschcroft again ..

Wait spending your money until you have been driving off-road for a while. The vehicle is more than capable as is. And if you don't find any mods to do .. Then probably something breaks and you need money for parts ;o)
Start to wd40 the belt. If the screaming stops .. It's the belt which is worn or stuffed with sand particles. Then wd40 the tensioner .. But it needs a lot and you need to massage it ;o) take of the belt of and push to the outer limits in both directions numerous times ..
This has worked for...
Four glow plugs are not issue as long as they all work. If one is bad, starting gets significantly more difficult. Test them .. It's easy.

Is the rattle also present a few min after start up?... or only during the first minute or so? ... and is hard to start?
I doubt a head gasket would cause a rattle. If the head gasket .. the white smoke is caused by coolant being pushed into the combustion area. Hereby the coolant evaporates...
I think we covered the black smoke part.
I'm a bit more concerned about the white smoke. The white smoke could be related to rough starting issues e.g if the glow plugs are dead. The smoke could probably be white ..
Is it hard to start? If so .. it could be your heater plugs which are dead...
If the intercooler hose collapses .. then you will also experience a lack of power. I believe the MAS flow sensor could be the problem. See if you can borrow on from a fellow and test it. It takes a minute to replace ..
