Get your multimeter out and check for continuity of the wiring back to the battery. You'll need someone to turn the ignition switch to check this as the relay/solenoid will need to engage. Also, check for continuity of the earth back to the negative of the battery terminal. P.S, I've just...

Did it not turn the starter over with the wire straight from the battery? If not that points to a bad/disconnected earth somewhere. Try a continuity test from a metal part of the engine to the battery negative terminal, you want a nice low reading. It seems somewhere the circuit is broken.

Does it try to turn over? Can you hear the starter motor turning, or just silence?

Although the inlet will already be full of carbon. A good clean out of the inlet manifold and inlet ports is highly recommended. You'll not believe the cr@p that accumulates in there!

Flipping impressed with the little Ronbox. I had a fairly sedate drive to work with the switch in the centre position, then a normal drive back with the switch in the ECO position. Eco mode gave me an extra 3mgp over my 26mile commute!
