Face lift headlight guards no longer available

You should look into making them, think you'd do some good business..... Anyway, I've been in to Land Rover. These are still available at £115 + Value Added Theft (£138).

New Diagnostic Reader for FL 1 on market - any good??

Looks ok, however unless you're planning on keeping with Land Rover for the rest of time, I'd go with a semi-pro diagnostics that reads a whole range of vehicles. Here's the same item £10 cheaper...

Face lift headlight guards no longer available

Are these still knocking about? A lot of sites are saying item obsolete. Has anyone been to Land Rover recently? Can you save me a trip there tomorrow and tell me if they're available and how much?

Life with my Landy (Platty's Project Thread)

Need to get the compound out to buff the finish up, but considering this was out of a can, I'm quite pleased. Base coat was mixed up by a local auto paint suppliers, top coat is 2k out of a can. I'm going to get a 20A relay and redo all the wiring for this. I'm also going to fit a...

    Lift Kit Group Buy

Hmm, I'm in the market for a 40mm kit. What numbers are we talking?

Bonnet release cable snapped. Any ideas??

No, I didn't have to cut anything. Just slightly wedged one side of the bonnet up with a piece of wood. Then I could see the bolt head on the wedged side with the help of a torch. I could then get the spanner onto the head of the bolt and get a few turns on it. Do the same on the other side and...

Bonnet release cable snapped. Any ideas??

Doesn't take long. I think all told it took less than an hour to replace my cable when it snapped. A 10mm ratchet spanner is very handy here.

What have you done to your Freelander today

Heat guns work quite well. I've had some good results in the past with faded trim. I've mentioned it before, but GTechniq C4 is what I use now. 15ml is enough to do 2 cars. Pricey, but it lasts for ages! I used it on my MINI when I bought early last year. Not had to re-apply it yet.

How should an air filter look like

You're talking about the pre-filter. The white fabric that covers the sponge. Fitting something like a K&N filter is effectively doing the same as removing the pre-filter element. Allowing more air to flow at the cost of less filtration.

How should an air filter look like

A bit dirtier than mine, but not massively.

Life with my Landy (Platty's Project Thread)

Thanks y'all. You'll be pleased to hear the next update has pictures! I mentioned I picked up a bonnet pod from ebay a few weeks back.... This is what it looked like when I picked it up. It had fixing holes on the back corners. I wasn't keen using this method to fix the pod down...

    2005 Fuel Pump Worries

Changed my pump and filter a couple of weeks back. There's a couple of 10mm bolts to remove, the push fit fuel connections and the electrical connections and out it comes. Then swapped the filter and pump on a bench. Wouldn't consider trying to change the pump and filter whilst the plastic...

Life with my Landy (Platty's Project Thread)

Update time! Ronbox is still going strong. I'm getting a consistent 41mpg now (520miles to 57 litres). I'm almost out of Diesel Rhino, so need to order more soon. I put her through an MOT a couple of weeks back. In typical Freelander fashion, on the way to work on the day of the MOT I had...

    DIY Diesel Injector cleaning?

He means remove and replace the fuel filter. I use 90ml of Diesel Rhino with every fill up. I blanked the EGR off, cleaned the inlet manifold and inlet ports out of all the carbon they where coated in, then fitted a Ronbox with a new MAF and started using the additive. My MPG went up from...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Thank the lord you said that. Note to everyone: Never, ever, ever paint drums a funky colour! Thats the sort of thing I used to do back when Les Smith were about selling multi coloured steering wheels, chrome floor mats, screw on tail pipes and Moss car alarms! Bright red drums...
