    Speaker grilles

Gosh, is that the colour.:eek: I was assuming it was smokestone or whatever they call it. I use Wilko black these days for almost everything carwise but I do favour Hammerite for certain jobs like the rear drums (gold naturally!)

    Speaker grilles

Is that what that is?? I had the seat out and then that cover cos the cover needed fumigation too. I use a torx screwdriver - one for each size in a set - bear in mind there are lots of hard to access screws like the side moulding on the seats. I hate torx and have never come across such a...

    Freelander Project IV (Bertie)

Thanks. I thought he'd remember me....................it's the Pajero that does it. :D:D I am rather pleased I did it that way (taking it to them) but it is fortunate the Dudley/Worcester is within striking distance. Is yours all done then?

It always amazes me just how much junk I find under things. I took a cover off the thing under the driver seat while I had the seat out and found money, screwdriver and other stuff.

    Freelander Project IV (Bertie)

What sort of cost in terms of your labour and supplies/parts would you put on the work done on the VCU when ready to go back on?

    Speaker grilles

Thanks. I will also do the tweeters later though they are fairly decent and I wanted the main ones done as they were an eyesore. The pic doesn't do the grot justice.:D

    Speaker grilles

So when I got the motor according to SWOM it looked like someone had been sick on the speaker grilles. So I decided to give them a seeing to. What a game getting the door handle inserts off to get to the screws. I very nearly didn't put them back on again. So card(s) off - muck and bullets...

    Lift-kit Freelander 1

Not an expert on the FL genealogy (L series means nothing to me) but I do know I wanted auto, TD4 and 3 door detachable roof so I went and found it; it came with a BMW engine apparently.

Where do I find info on it? Sounds ideal to me.

    Freelander Project IV (Bertie)

I've seen them at work. Say hello for me from the immovable front propshaft Pajero visitor.:D Tell them all seems fine if you would.

I am no expert so I wait for those who are going to shout BMW.

Hehe, I need no metalwork and no damn brake pipe work as well. I loathe working on brake's hydraulics.

    Freelander Project IV (Bertie)

Looking forward to it. I read elsewhere that the 40mm lift was less troublesome and you really think it would cut down on the cut and shut? The metal on mine is in really superb nick so hacking it seems a shame.

Radio - not your usual approach

Here we go. Did a search but most results were for fancy fitments. I have a radio floating about which I want to put into the FL. I doubt I will find an ISO for this plug but I could be wrong. So it looks like a job for the snips unless anybody has any other ideas. I can possibly check the...

    Access through the firewall

@ Dartmoor Navigator I grease mine about every 5000 miles. You have to be careful not to pump them up too much. I guess it all helps to increase their life.

    Access through the firewall

You have done well on that dash. Job's a good 'un - all done. There is a blanking grommet and an interior pad which I assume is removed if a clutch pedal is installed so I partly removed it. There is a removable round patch of sound deadening on the engine side. I found a blanking grommet to...
