    Complete auto oil change FL1

Yes it's the way I would do it and also I'd measure what came out and put back the same amount.

Unsuccessful attempt to fit roof rails.

Any chance of using a magnet to hold or retrieve them? I was thinking of noedymium magnets which are really powerful.

    Rubber gloves pack 100

Sounds like a plan. I don't use enough to warrant a big purchase like 10 boxes but when I find some that seem to be what I want I'll probably get a few more. To me they are strong when I can reuse them if they aren't FUBAR the first time.:D:D:D

    Stained bumper

I didn't get the Halfords spray but I do think it might be the right one. I would need two or three spray cans at a guess to cover all the plastic so I decided to use shoe polish at 77p a tin but I think it has not done well. I had some back to black and have used that which is fairly good but...

    Rubber gloves pack 100

Look good. Seem to be no size XL. Came across these while searching Troutouch. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/100-Black-Nitrile-Disposable-Gloves-Powder-Latex-Free-Mechanic-Tattoo-Valeting-/122015450423

    Stained bumper

Yes I had that on my short list. So that's crossed off now.;) Might as well use shoe polish then. If I can be bothered I'll call in to Halfords and maybe get the black bumper paint.:)

    Rubber gloves pack 100

So I use all types of rubber gloves from marigolds (way too costly) to Morrisons own. I have some good quality black ones as well etc. for those heavier jobs. However, I have been using one of those 100 packs of disposables for jobs like electrical work or cleaning from the plastic fantastic...

    Stained bumper

Talking of rubber/nitrile gloves, there are so many grades like medical or tattooist or surgical it is hard to chose a type that's any good especially in extra large so recently I splashed out £8 on some "proper" nitrile ones as the poundland ones rip as I pull them on. Was it this you were...

    Stained bumper

We had fun and games getting the top off but even more getting it back on. Problem was after about 15 mins jiggling the top our arms got tired. I found out the right way to do it later on but was not going to try it - it is those spring clips..................annoying. I'll stick to just the...

    Stained bumper

I think I'll maybe try the car plan stuff.................................................. .....................................especially as I have a hard top but I begrudge spending £7 on tarting up a bumper even though it does mar the looks a lot. I saw a old FL with nice black bumpers and...

    Stained bumper

So it's a bit like when I use Roundup for weeds, they almost thrive on the stuff and grow right back; I got the pressure washer on the bumpers expecting the staining to go, it dried off straight away and the staining came right back.:mad:

    VCU Torque test results

Thanks Joe. I must admit before I bought the FL I took it on a test drive. When I pulled in to the garage forecourt I actually mentioned to the seller that the steering seemed heavy "It's as if the brakes are on" I said. This is partly what led me to believe later that there was an issue and...

    VCU Torque test results

All this techno chat is very difficult to follow but I am beginning to conclude that a (FL) VCU is a PITA. I may be old fashioned but a good old transfer box is looking more and more appealing.

WOT - no grab handle...........not any more

Possibly cos the steel in the roof is not exactly seat belt strength but I lifted my weight with it just to check the strength. I nearly went for a solid one thinking it might be stronger. I guess if I am falling off a cliff I'd do better to jump for it than hold on.:D:D:D

I bought this after years of bowls, paper and all sorts. A real boon.:cool: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121996178171?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT As for car creeper, wheels get caught up and it's a struggle to glide anywhere.:mad:

WOT - no grab handle...........not any more

Highly unlikely that I'll be adding another as I am making the motor suitable for me primarily. They grey seems to match well but TBH I went for the cheapest flip-up I could find. If I can get another I might be tempted though. I do not recall when I had a motor with no grab handles and I have...
