    Aldi air compressor...any good?

I went out and bought one of these last year when my Machine Mart compressor )which had a much bigger receiver) went kaput and I needed one stat. First thought was the price is really great. It had the wrong fittings on it for me so I had to change them to link up my existing kit, PITA. I like...

    Rubber gloves pack 100

Same with Makro. In fact even the charity shops are having a giraffe these days. Double the price I think is reasonable. Lots of us are moaning about their (charity shops) prices.

    Stained bumper

Hehehehe.............oh dear more to consider. TBH the black is more charcoal colour right this minute. If they were not stained I'd stick with grey but if I am going to put some slap on it then I think black but if I could get charcoal maybe!:D;). I do think they look sharper or more...

    Stained bumper

Good point because my door mirrors are actually black which is another reason to get the bumpers done.;)

    Stained bumper

I love Hammerite paint but for some areas it needs to be more chip proof. When dry HUS&W it is really rock hard. Every inch of my Junior's underside now has it

    Stained bumper

I always use Hammerite Underseal with Waxoyl for spare wheel carriers - takes a while to dry but really lasts - which is the same sort of thing. I had steel bumpers on my SJ413 that eventually needed a coating and once done it lasted ages (like years and years) and was so simple to touch up when...

    Stained bumper

Very brave to do a dashboard......they are so complex these days compared to my Ford Anglia Days. I did a lot of searches to find a plastic solution and none seemed to appeal to me which is why I eventually put the question on here about staining.

    Stained bumper

I think you have pretty much got it sussed Gary. The trim is actually grey and I think black works better (not always but in this case) against the red but even more now I have black wheels and a black top. TBH I would have left it if it wasn't for the staining. I like the idea of the heat gun...

    Stained bumper

Well I tried shoe polish but it really didn't cut it. I don't want to spend a fortune on this and I will possibly try the Carplan paint but overnight the cheapest has doubled in price. Here is what it looks like using back to black. The staining has certainly gone from view but for how long.

    Rubber gloves pack 100

They look good and I have similar but I my search is for gossamer type that I can sling after something like undersealing. I suppose I mean really disposable but that last more than 5 seconds.

    Freelander Project IV (Bertie)

I haven't been TPF&T or TPO for years. I always get comp as the difference is a matter of a few quid and in some cases comp has been cheaper. If TPO was half cheaper or maybe 25% I'd take it for my FL which is only a plaything.

You could end up having to pay for any damage done if your insurance is void.

    Freelander Project IV (Bertie)

About 20 years ago SWMBO had a head on with a transit. The assessors went over both vehicles with a fine tooth comb. The worry is if they find anything out of the ordinary they could use it as an excuse. Things like rear seat removal which I think to be trivial is declarable. Extra insurance...

    VCU Torque test results

These are my very concerns with the Freelander. Just like the Suzuki Jimny had an Achilles heel (kingpin bearings which have no protection from water ingress - so wade not in one!) so I think this is the FL's Achilles heel. Personally I think it is a great car in many respects and would better...

Unsuccessful attempt to fit roof rails.

Like all of these jobs on Freelanders, it's the unexpected that catches me out. Glad you sorted yours out. I had a door catch striker plate on a car years ago that I tried to adjust and when I removed the two cross head screws the plate behind just fell down inside the frame. So whenever I...
