you are wrong .ive just done an ACE removal . you need to change the settings from air to coil . using the Hawkeye i cant remember exactly but its in the chassis or programming section and when you access it the hawkeye will ask "currently configured for air ,switch to coil? yes or no " or...

the starter would have been my next suggestion, you should have the starter fixed . there are repair kits available

does it crank at all? the key battery may need to be changed .

if you cant hear the fuel pump then it could be the inertia switch . they seem to always give me problems

you could have another problem ,a bad u joint ,bent prop shaft , worn bushes any of these things could have caused the rubber "dounut" to go bad in the first place

if the noise is comming from the fuel tank then the fuel pump will need changing soon .its a common problem with TD5

its also lighter than the TD5 . wich doesnt make sense ,you would think the td5 would be better than the 300tdi

well i think ive found the problem . i unpluged the MAF and it runs great ,no more lag just smooth acceleration

yes i am sure it is fully closed .Its just a strange thing because all the auto discos ive owned never sufferd from this and also the 110 defender we had never did this .

someone may have rewired it to run with the ignition . or they do come on if the coolant temp is high . and they will always come on if the air con switch is on .

is the pedal hard and vehicle not stopping ? if so then check the vacum line is connected and there is a rubber o ring that goes between the cylinder and the booster so make sure its there and its sealing properly. if not then the cylinder maybe bad ive bought new and had problems with them too.

then flashes Marks and Spencers at me .....LOL .but the autobox on the D2 is a pain ive had 2 boxes from ashcrofts and they are good but expensive 700 without fitting . so if you get a good used one with warranty as James said then you should be ok

yea i may get a deal ,didnt think about that . only one of the engines is dead(ex Trinidad Police) and one has over 200,000 miles on it and its giving some backpressure and the last one im not too sure whats wrong(bought the defender but its not here in Trinidad yet ) but i know it runs .
