I would say so, you wouldn't want anything from the chassis apart from the mounts touching the engine. And yeah put a couple of plates on to be safe.

I use a 500kg hoist it works no problem for anything land rover related, but you need to remember that it can lift 500 kg in the un-extended position. at the furthest point it may only lift 150kg, and at that point it can tip over if you're not careful

try bleeding clutch system, also maybe check if linkage is okay above the pedal next to brake stuff. If that is not working I would say that you need to replace the slave cylinder and push rod.

Very easy to replace clutch yourself proving you have an engine hoist. I would recommend gearbox out. some people do engine out, choice is yours really. you may already know this , but do not buy a britpart one. buy a Borg and Beck clutch pack.

I enjoy driving in the rain, but the wiper motor usually stops working after about half an hour.

whilst there off I would, as long as you know how to do em. Also check if there if there is any slop in the extension joint.

going to bolt on engine mounts offering up the engine. throttle cable on. assuming the tension from the injector pump return spring will keep it in place. rad and inter cooler on okay. using frame from disco gearstick bent the other way, went really easily with heat from blow...

cut out engine mounts disco interior rear prop all lined up. front prop fits too. need to move the box up 1.5 inches , Moved it forward 2 inches. got the engine in to line it all up, but have to do it again tomorrow.

yeah fair enough, but can have been that bad, bought the defender from a farm that had owned it since new. unit it rotted out and sold the parts.

luckily the lt77 i bought had less than 100k on it
