    stuck with freelander problem

I think you may be on to something. I know they haven't been changed since I bought it new (128,000 miles on the ODO), so it may be time. I took the vehicle and had the codes read. There were misfires on multiple cylinders. Any suggestions on a source or particular brand? Should I stick with the...

    stuck with freelander problem

I could understand the leads causing skipping/rough idling. But there's an obvious odor of rich fuel/air mixture. I changed out the oxygen sensors. Do you think the MAF could be causing that? I should mention that I hear a rattling sound coming from under the hood that I've yet to identify...

    stuck with freelander problem

LOL! Thanks for the pity. I've gotta say, my experience hasn't been half bad considering what I've read and heard about these vehicles. I bought it brand new in 2002 and it currently has almost 130,000 miles on the clock. It usually drives very, very well. The interesting thing is that...

    stuck with freelander problem

I hope I'm not intruding, since the issue in this thread has been resolved. On a related note, I'm reading here that some are saying they've disconnected their MAF sensor, and the vehicle runs well. I've been noticing some bad smell (too rich fuel mixture), extremely slow warm up in the morning...

    Vibrating Freelander

I'm having a similar problem. The part of the main driveshaft that connects to the transmission (foremost coupling) is bad. The rubber boot inside is torn, and, of course, its all dried out. I've taken it (the driveshaft) to a driveline specialist and they're trying to see what remedies they...
