forgot to say it was the same bearings as last time that went, what could cause the same bearings to go?

sounds like you all had a good time, i had a bad day, 1 of my wheel bearings collapsed why i was driveing, luckily i carry loads of tools with me and had a spare set, i didnt have a new seal tho so hasnt got 1 on at the min will have to get one asap:)

what i said will more than likely fix the problem, it has on mine, its not expensive if you do it yourself, if you can be arsed to take the head off and have a vavle spring compresor the seals are about 80p each, so about 7 quid and a days work, oh and a replacment head gasket about a tenner.

update on the disco, went out and got tax then took it for a drive, pulls alot better than it used to and smoother than it used to, ive got alot more power at lower revs, i even get a got a bit wheel spin pulling out of a roundabout and it never did that even when trying before so i think the...

try the spill return pipe between the injectors, these sometimes perish beneath the cover around them, it did help with mine and i noticed a bit of a difference in mpg aswel, only about 4 quid for a bit of pipe and may cure your problem.

valve stem seals, if u get 1 of those fancy valve spring compressors from fleabay you can change them without takeing the head off, i also have a spare set of seals if u want them.

the disco lives to see another day, got it all back together again and 8 or 9 turns of the engine it started and running very well:)

most back together today:), got a tap and dye set and cleaned all threads on everything and copper slipped the lot awsel, got belts back on and making a bracket for an electric fan, then just gota torqe down the head and connect pipes, lets hope for better weather tomorow been pisin down all day.

its been a nightmare, had to spend as much on tools as i did on parts and its had a complete topend rebuild with all new parts apart from rocker arms, as long as i can get the taps and bolts to go with them it should running tomorow:):):)

had a better day today, got everything off and got a new cambelt in, only thing i gota do now is re tap most of the holes around the water pump and get some new bolts then its all back together again.

i cant afford to replace the caseing, i mean the caseing behind the cam cover and everything, could i not have the crack welded and thap a bigger thread.

no the bolt is out but only because the case split, studying the bolt there are no thread marks on 75% of the bolt so where the case cracked it was just letting it slide out not unoing off the thread.

no been a bit naughty and spent money i shouldnt have on tools, im useing all the 1/2 sockets i got (not many but most need are there), i got a 3ft breaker bar, i bort an electric impact driver and a welder, im not to far away now, wen i got that pulley and damper off its only the cambelt itself...

another update, stil not got my disco running, i did have a brake tho i didnt do anything til today since thursday, Got the water pump off after getting a welder and a few hours work but now got a bolt stuck and now rounded on the bottom pully so cant get it off to get the damper off, i took the...
