the discs where in a plain box put the pads where mintex boxes, i had a small vice, 4ft breaker bar, 4 and 8lb hammers and a crowbar and it still took 3hrs, i didnt put thread lock on either but they where bloody tight i used the imact driver which goes up to 300nm, as for the bearings i think...

had a little bit of a bonus paddocks sent me mintex brakes instead of the cheaper ones i orderd :)

got all the back half done now, got new discs and pads for the front and gota get some springs to match the new ones on the back after i done the rest of the mot work does anyone have any tips on getting the old disc off the hub, took me nearly 3hrs to get 1 of the bastids off :mad:

u might struggle in the lanes with that lol :)

hi all been a while, got rear springs and shocks, discs and pads all round and that ball joint at last hopefully will get them on next week, speaking of ashridge i went up there for a bbq and walk the dog and noticed a few tracks in the woods with only no horses signs and looked on the map and...

seen a disco i might get, its a 91 v8, mot til 1/10 and in pretty good nick apart from it splutters when its warmed up £400, dnt no wether to risk it or not, wot u think?

anyone got any ideas of what it could be.

been offerd a disco 3.9 v8 running rough when warmed up, how much could it cost me to fix, thanks:)

lots and lots of pieces, the cage that holds the bearings was in two pieces about 1mm thick:eek:

yeah thats what i think it is, shaft that come out is all wobily i dont think it should be, i should have a bit of money next week so will come over and go to scrap yard if you got nothing on, could it be where i have a saggy back spring and nackerd shocks putting more pressure on that wheel, as...

this is why i want to take it off the road for a bit, so i got time to strip everything down and check properly and not worry about getting a back together again in time to pick the missus up from work.

sorry jobs i wana do are, discs and pads, shocks and springs, welding in boot floor and footwells not checked sills yet, swivel pin seals and bearings, wheel bearings all round also wana get props checked got a bit of a judder about 60 but comes and goes.

i would like to do it that way but that but thats y im struggling now, i done wheel bearings 3 times on front o/s and sounds like there going again, its costing more in between jobs because i didnt have to money or time to fix whats causing it, im only doin it if this car im thinkin of getin is...
