    Facelift headlight problems

Can you fit the higher wattage bulbs in these lights or does this cause problem with fuses and wiring.

    Climate control fan

This now looks like it the low speed fan that is not working either automatically through the climate control or manually. Does the system have relays or is it a variable resistor somewhere in the system that has failed.

    Need Help!

It does sound as though you may have a failing injector or even a faulty glow plug which if they are a 'pattern part' is not unusual. I would be tempted to test them anyway and also your injectors before going down the HG route.

Like the Clutch cable snapped - Only its an Auto !

Sadly the autobox on the Disco II is not so 'user friendly' as the earlier models and I would think that changeing the oil would not be an option for the DiY mechy, especially as it is apparently recommended to overfill them to aid cooling, and this with the engine running and through a fluid...

    Td5 Auto-Box

Yes, I can agree with that, it does seem to be phaffing about alot in lower gears which obviously burns more fuel, it lacks 'positivity' if there is such a word. My 98 series 300tdi does not appear to behave like that so I was also concerned about this aspect, but it does seem to be a trait...

Like the Clutch cable snapped - Only its an Auto !

What mileage has it covered ? it may just be your XYZ switch totally mullered and sending the gearbox into total 'disconnect' mode. I have a spare to try which occasinally does go into 'limp home mode' which does keep the drive.

    TD5 air compressor

It has only just started doing this, which is worrying as obviously something has changed / deteriated. Of course there has been a lot of huge puddles around my area which I have delighted in ploughing through without slowing down and I am thinking perhaps water has drenched the compressor and...

    TD5 air compressor

I notice lately after stopping and switching off the engine, as I am getting out, there appears to be a loud 'farting' noise coming from the nearside of the Disco in the region of the air compressor, is something packing up.:(

    Tow bar slider

Contact CWS at Glastonbury, they are breakers and have a website. They are breaking loads of Discos, Rangies and other 4x4, they are not cheap and the staff are not exactly dynamic (average age is 82 I think) but they will definitely have one.:(

    Sunroof conversion.

The previous owner of my TD5 was obviously not a member of Landyzone as he has completely sealed the sunroof glass to the frame with some black gutter sealant which has now gone hard. It continued to leak and after I bought it and read the tips on here about leaky sunroofs, a bead of sealant...

    struggling to start....300tdi

Have you checked your fuel filter, it sounds as though it may have collapsed / clogged and is not letting the fuel through at a high enough rate. Can you check the fuel pressure at the injectors to ensure it is maintained at the required pressure.

All Dicso TD5 owners change your MAF sensor now!

Great info, is it worth buying a Nanocom and if so from where. ?

    Disco TD5

/\/\/\/\/\ Got both at the moment, and could not agree more. Td5 is a joy whatever the journey, especially the auto.:)

    Disco TD5 radio model identification

I think they define the ICE fairly comprehensively in the workshop manual, I will look when I am at home later or someone may beat me to it.

Play on steering - what's normal?

You can reduce it by adjuster on the top of the steering box, a bit tight in there tho'. I had play in my 300tdi and took the slack out the box using this which made a big difference but on a later occasion whilst under the front I grabbed the steering drop arm..........it was loose. After...

    Automatic Gearbox Flashing selector

Wished I had known that, I just bought a new one from Guy Salmon, £132ppp and fitted it tonight, As previously stated they are easy to fit but becarefull about the heat from the auto box sump, its fecking hot. The exhaust cooled down very quickly, the oil in the auto box does not. The adjustment...

    Torch the f****r

Yes, the TD5 is a bit more refined engine wise and thus quieter. The 300 pulls well but is damn noisey doing it. I also believe the TD5 is more tuneable power wise.

    2000 td5 loss of power

No, look on Ebay, they are about £38 ish and easy to fit. Also check the plug on your ECU and make sure no oil has penetrated. It can be cleaned up and would then be OK. The MAF unit may also need cleaning.
