    Disco2 parts catalogue/manual

I think the workshop manuals are available for download on here, if not they are cheap enough on Ebay in CD format (about£3), as regards a 'parts manual', I have not seen one of those available yet, perhaps someone else will be along with better info.

    Rear Suspension Dropped - Compressor?

One of the problems with the compressor is that its under the floor and vulnerable to water ingress. The normal cause of failure is water being sucked in through the compressor air inlet and then siezing. This I think is what has happened to mine which I remove the weekend and attached power to...

Disco 2 AutoBox Warning Lights and Nanocom

I do think the cause of your problem will be the XYZ switch on the autobox. There are two things to consider. Firstly these switches are notorious for failing due to water ingress after all they are in a hostile situation hanging off the side of the gearbox and obviously in a pretty big splash...

    Rear Suspension Dropped - Compressor?

I think it must be to do with changing / modifying the original vehicle design which had to undergo 'type testing'. Another consideration is that springs do give a harder ride.

Hi Tincker, I have used them but only for 'a part' which they ordered for me over the telephone and without payment. That impressed me, however on going to collect it, all was a mess. Two guys in the stores serving and both on the telephone, for over 20 minutes and then they could not find my...

When you say a kit, I presume you mean the column mounted buttons or are you talking about an independent cruise control system.

New TD5 how long will it last?

Most Landy dealers normally give you a choice of free gifts, i.e. a set of jumper leads or a tow rope. Go with the tow rope. No......I am only joking. Welcome to Discovery ownership which I find is completely different to car ownership. The moment you get behind the wheel you feel 'exillerated'...

    HID Conversion

Well, having read this requirement, I should be OK. I have air suspension which is self levelling and of course the original ligts are E marked. light washers are in place and working, so it is either HID's or Spectsavers, the first being the cheapest option. Thanks guys for your inputs.

I think I'll have another Brandy, this all sounds expensive to me.

    what disco to choose

It does not matter what model you buy with a sunroof, it will leak. 99% of these leaks can be cured by sealing the sunroof frame on the outside of the roof. (mine has). The 300tdi is a real workhorse, a bit coarse but reliable, and economical, mine is, I tow a 1600 kgs caravan and get 25 mpg...

    Discovery II td5 Advice

I have upgraded from a 300tdi to an early TD5 and (touching wood) everything has been 'OK'. its a 2001 version with 100K on the clock and apart from replacing the XYZ switch on the automatic gearbox, and the interior lights do not come on when opening the doors, everything is brilliant. I have...

    HID Conversion

I have a TD5 with air suspension and the later lights fitted. I have not bought a kit yet but thinking that it would improve my current poor lights. I can remember that the bulbs are inside covers on the back of the lights and that the room behind the light is 'tight'. I have found a H7 HID kit...

    Rear Suspension Dropped - Compressor?

This sounds similar to what I am experiencing, but I have not yet checked the fuse (I have a stinking cold so staying in the warm) to my mind if a fuse blows then there is something overloading it, i.e., a short or an overcurrent. There must also be a relay for the compressor, I would check that...

    HID Conversion

I have recently done an upgrade to the later headlights and they appear to give poorer light than the originals. I am now considering fitting a HID kit, is this a simple task or have the bulb mountings got to be modified.

    TDV6 or TD5

The TD5 is brilliant but the TDV6 is the next generation. go for it I say, I would. I have gone from a 300tdi to a TD5 and loved it, I cannot believe that a TDV6 would not be the same stepup as what I have done. Its my next move later this year.

    Fuel flap TD5

I have a TD5 and the fuel flap release mechanism has the plastic clip mounted in the bracket, but nothing to keep it orientated, this then results in the flap being easily opened by pressing the end. Is there a spring attached to the plastic clip to maintain the pressure on the solenoid release...
