Scott, I have a 1991 which has a vin code that falls well inside the HA701009. So, but never assuming, if it says 1986 to HA701009 and mines a 1991 then yours being 1989 should fall into the same group. That is unless your axles, brakes etc have not been replaced by much never parts...

Stupid question...:confused2: I'm putting a new steering damper on tomorrow. Do you have to jack the front of the landy up onto axle stands etc or can I just swap it in situ whilst the wheels are on the floor? Sorry, SpenB

Thats sort of the idea. Not so much motorway speeds but the general 50-60mph. So the fuel economy will be better as well? Suppose the cheepest way of getting a Transfer box would to be buy a old Disco and that way I could use the axles and other stuff for spares.

I had a simlar problem but mine was the pump not working. Dont know if anyone on here can eliminate that idea incase i'm wrong. Dont want you buying a pump to find its not that.
