Sorry should have explained. The left hand picture is the bowl taken off the bottom of the sender unit. The right hand picture is the strainer that goes inside the left hand bowl. Without explaining myself very well was trying to show what the sender unit looks like when it is taken apart.

I'd use contact cleaner on it. Did you clean it when you cleaned the inlet manifold? Orifice it fits in really gunks up. I've got a spare used MAP sensor if anyone is after one. Bought a new one last year when I suspected mine was faulty, turned out to be something else.
