the upper tailgate only fastens in the centre not at the ends, the lower tailgate fastens at both ends and the latches clog up with crap. if it is the lower one giving you trouble its an easy fix, unbolt them of the tailgate give them a damn good clean out then re lube them.

the proper procedure is to replace the diesel pump for a new one, although thats a bit dear. another way to get round the hot start and to give an increase in power is to have bigger injector tips and lower break pressures, works wonders and the powers very nice too.

start with the easy mods first, decat and get rid of the centre box, get a boost controller (20 quid of ebay) and turn the boost upto 19psi, get rid of the airbox and make a cold air space for a decent cone filter, vent the breather to atmosphere, then you can move on to a bit more money mods...

take the covers off so you can see the injector wiring, the breather is on the top towards the rear. you have to unplug the injector wiring and undo its little retaining screws that hold the loom down, its an easy little job really. crack on.;)
