nay lad, i took mine off completely a year and a half ago. the ecu does know its not working but does not go into limp mode, it just logs a soft fault for it.

i think i would be changing that gearbox oil and filter pretty quickly, when you drop the old oil out try and collect it in a clean container. check it for metal particals, if there seems to be an unusual amout or metalic looking oil you got problems. hopefully yours will be free of metal bits...

9ltrs is about right for a fill, one other thing i didnt see on your list is the breather system filter. if your gearbox oil and filter has never been changed i would recommend changing that too.

dont know about the quality of the other filters as i only use dealer parts but changing it is easy,no need to fill it just swap them over and cycle the ignition a few times and it will fill and prime its self.

bmw did away with the swirl flaps, your range rover wont have them fitted so no need to worry.

they are 22" rims but i cant remember where i got them now, there are very similar ones advertised on ebay with tyres for around 1500 quid. they have been moved to the td6 now as i sold old faithfull in the avatar.

the gm gearbox is weak at the best of times so dont be tempted to put dexron 3 in, use the texamatic which is specially formulated for the gm box. the filter needs changing when you do it which is a nice easy job, just put the suspension in the off road setting gives you plenty of room...

you dont want to be putting atf in your gm gearbox mate, it should be texamatic 7045e.

fuel filter and its worth changing the transfer box oil and diff oils, my transfer box oil was black when i drained it and the cars only just turned 80k. bloody expensive oil in the transfer too, some special blend according to the dealer.

take no notice of my avatar, thats my old beast. mines a 54 with the same problem as yours, the plastic rear panel comes off seperate. probably easier to take the glass out to get it off without braking the clips, to get the glass off alter the angle so it points towards the ground then slide...

its part of the mirror mate, mines done the same. take the mirror of, rub it down, bit of etch primer then satin black. good as new for a few quid compared to nearly 500 quid for a new one.

the fan is viscous so not controlled with any electonics, i would get the rad took out and check for crap that gathers inbetween the rads. you wouldnt believe the crap that was there on the last one i did, water pump is another thing to check as there impeller comes loose and spins on the shaft.
