I'm liking that, before I got my Landy I was considering a MWB van to do something similar. That given me something to consider for the winter!

Googled it but it seems to be a crankshaft fitment, this is on a bracket attached to the steering damper (I think) Does it just absorb some of the natural vibrations in the chassis?

I bought a Disco because I like riding my bike to get places!

Was under the disco last night and saw a little wheel, about 6" attached to the steering damper? Looks a bit like a jockey wheel, wasn't turning but was a bit gunked up.

Should be really simple, it's only held on with 2 bolts and the fluid pipe. Then it's just a case of re-bleeding. I think the master cylinder is more likely to be at fault, i'm going to check the pedal linkages for anything silly before ordering replacements

The pedal is so low it doesn't come back beyond the point where the spring takes over. It will come up if lifted though which doesn't seem right for a hydralic system. Maybe this is pulling air into the system hence why it completely went on me I think it's best to go with the master/slave...

Making progress I hope, took the slave cylinder off tonight and the pushrod was protruding by around 1" which is promising. There was a lot of play in the pushrod, probably 1/4" back and forth, is this right? Looking in Haynes there isn't much info. Another piece of useful info if anybody is...

When I got my boat (19', 600Kg + Trailer) it was in Nottingham, I towed it back to Cumbria on my 2.2l Vectra, that was an experience!

I'm a newbie, I don't know what ORM or SLS means :o There is very little downward pressure on the vehicle when towing, my 700Kg boat when on the trailer can be lifted at the towing hitch by one person. If it makes the car bounce more though then this is going to be passed to the towing hitch...

Is it a bad idea to raise the suspension on a Landy if it is to be used for towing? I'm talking towing boats and cars via an a-frame, not a lightweight trailer of garden waste. I'd like my Landy to be multi purpose!

I'll give that a try. I was driving it without any problem, it was then parked up for a couple of days and when I got in again the pedal was on the floor so it didn't happen during use.

I did have a quick look to see if I could give you a link but your right, they all seem the be Discovery 2 onwards. My D1 has a modern stereo, no idea who wired it though!
