get a decent flare kit, a roll of brake pipe, and a pack each of male and female unions in metric. Change the whole lot, new flexi hoses too, then its done. You can leave original steel pipes if they are really good.

The problems Ive had include loose fitting bleed nipples that could allow air past the threads, no access to front nipples for a hose - Ive used the finger tip and mess method. That big bleeder looks just the job. Probably should have bought one years ago.

Whats available ? without costing more than letting the garage do it for me, of course. I want a positive pressure bleeder. Today I broke a new easibleed, they are crap, its falling apart and wont go back together.

Probably very hard to tell until it breaks, could go on for years occasionally burning a spoonful of oil. Keep topping it up

was this on overrun, ie engine braking ? general wear and tear ?

Id just warm it up, get oil hot, drive it perhaps, then drain and fill as any other car. I dont like Halfrauds own oil filters, very flimsy, Ive even seen swarf on the thread. Buy a brand, any brand. The Champion ones at H will be fine, if they still sell them. I wouldnt drop a sump unless...

One side works ok so Ill leave alone, other side doesnt push the shoes out enough to stop wheel turning by hand so presumably is knackered. Nowt done today,I was too knackered.

who knows. Ive ordered some snail cam adjusters, assuming that this might be the problem as everything else is new (or will be, didnt do a thing over the weekend, mending cars in wind/rain/hail isnt my idea of fun) As the adjusters come in sets of 4 Im thinking of adding a pair to the shoes...

I think its time to buy all new adjusters just in case, nothing left to replace after that. I gather from posts on here that, as usual, the cheapo ones arent much use; can people suggest where to get decent ones if available

Thanks - I was wondering how to change that. It has one adjuster at rear. Ive fitted the bigger bore pistons to match having LWB set-up on front, despite the vehicle being a SWB.

I hadnt thought of that, will check. Didn't realise its possible to fit the springs wrongly. Still, Ive been bitching about the poor/archaic design features for a week or two now. Presumably springs should go from shoe to post.
