Leaking HP pump, is this a common problem?

Hi Twister. It seems to be a very common problem. The pump runs at tremendous pressure, around 200 and 1350 bar. and this is contained by very small o-rings which take a right pounding, and eventually fail. You may well find that the pump leaks quite badly at first, but stops as the...

TD4 Injection Pump - Bosch CP1 - reputable recon supplier?

You probably don't need a new one, just change the seals as I did, it's a damn site cheaper and not too difficult so long as you allow plenty of time and have the right tools. check my website (below) for info. about £30 quid for the extractor/keeper tool and around £15-20 quid for the seal kit...

    Oil change

Just gave mine an oil and filter change yesterday. Bought the oil (millers XFS fully synth) and filter (Mahle), cost £40.32 with vat. Luckily I had not fitted the under tray back since my last episode of doing the hp pump seals so the job was easy. Well it would have been quick too, if only I'd...

    MPG drop with new injector

Just a thought, but don't new injectors have to be coded in the ecu? If so, did they do it?.

I put the new tyres on the back, but.....

I wouldn't have thought 5/600 miles would make any difference to tyre diameter, and if it had, I'd be taking em back. Just shove em on the front. :D

    led bulbs

Hi folks. As promised here are the results of my 2 different types of LED side lights. The one on the left is composed of 6 separate wire ended LED's soldered to a small circular PCB. They are wired as 2 sets in parallel, of 3 each in series and have a 120r resistor to drop remaining voltage...

    Freelander Rear Hub Bearing Renewal

Hi. New tyres should ALWAYS go on the back if your only changing 2 of them. Also I have seen, twice now two different people thinking a wheel bearing Was on it's way out and it turned out to be a tyre that had worn unevenly, so check them first before you go to the trouble and expense of doing...

    Discs and pads change

Just watched the video, am I mistaken, or has he fitted the wrong pad to the right hand side of the disc? I'm sure the taper is at the bottom, which suggests that one should be on the left hand side of the nearside disc. What do you think chaps?

    Discs and pads change

You may find that the disc is well stuck to the hub if it hasn't been off before, mine were, luckily I had a 3 leg puller to get them off, otherwise I would have struggled. I had tried tempting them off with a hammer but if I'd have hit then any harder I could well have damaged them. Of course...

Occasional rubbing type noise from Freelander

I had a similar problem for quite a while. Just happened whilst pulling up from around 30mph to stop. It sounds exactly like a disc pad worn to the steel, but when I checked them there was plenty of pad left and the discs, whilst worn, were not scored. I bought new pads though, and it stopped...

    drum paint help

It's no good just de-greasing them, you need to remove or at least neutralise any rust that's on them before you paint them. Even hammerite will probably succumb to rust eventually. And they will get pretty bloody hot under breaking, so maybe you could try stove paint, that should stand the...

TD4 lacks power after going through puddles

Think there's an air intake at the front offside wing. Must go into a cavity between inner wing and mud guard. Maybe there's a hole in it? Just a thought.

    help please rear brake drum

Has the drum moved at all? 1 Is it stuck solid? Or 2 does the drum come partly off and then sticks? If 1, then apply some easing oil to the spigot that the drum is centered on, leave for a while then use a lump hammer, firmly tapping around the circumference of the drum to dislodge it from the...

2004 td4 freelander .. Making sucking noise when turned off

I had a similar noise, and it was the vacuum pipe that had come off the egr valve as TD John said. If it isn't off check for leaks in the tube maybe.

    Recommend me some tyres please!

Try General Grabber UHP's. I have them on mine as they don't do the AT2's in my size either (225/55/R17 97V) They seem ok so far, just waiting to try em out int snow.
