knocking sound when turning full lock

It could be the VC mounting bearings. I had this problem a while back when turning sharp corners like junctions. The bearings were fine, but the rubber bearing mounts were knackered. If you lay down by the side of your vehicle and slide your leg under, and against the VC, then give it a series...

    Leaky injector solution

I suppose that depends on what you mean by 'a leaking injector'. Where's it leaking from? Injectors are easy to remove and replace.......Usually. :)

    Drop link

Hi Chaps. Just fitted an anti roll drop link. Asked for genuine LR part (RBM100172), but got a Delphi. Any experience of this make? Are they OK. Cost £22.60 so hoping they should last. Cheers. :)

    TD4 Starting Nightmare!

Save yourself lots more agro, and take it to A MAIN DEALER for a diagnostic you can rely on. It'll cost you £75.00 or so, but trust me, it's worth it.

Thanks for all your suggestions and help folks. After spending 3 hours at Farnells in Guiseley , and another £86.00, I think we have the solution. It's a thing I looked at in the early days, as it was mentioned in Rover Rons info, but as 'The specialists' all singing all dancing test...

AAAAARRRRRGGGGG!!!!! Well, ECU replacement came back. Just the bloody same, in fact the landy runs worse than before it went into the 4x4 specialists, "specialists? Now there's a contradiction". Not only is it still cutting out, but it runs uneven, and keeps blowing blue smoke occasionally...

Ok, so decided to phone the ecu folk who originally tested it. I thought being as they had already been paid for the initial test, I'd give them a chance to redeem themselves. Actually, it was quite a positive conversation and I put it to them that maybe the test they did didn't give the ecu...

Update. OK, so went to pick up my motor and pay the bill. £200 quid for not fixing it. :mad2: Next thing is sending the ecu off again, probably to these. The ECU Doctor but NOT these, as they are the ones that charger £80 quid and said it was ok. ECU Testing and ECU Repairs - ECU Technologies...

Thanks for that Vertuas, I'll look into it. Other update is..............ECU tested and came back with no faults. :5bbanghead: Back to the nightmare. Garage says diagnostics comes up with the same fault code repeatedly "injector driver error" so next thing to check I suppose. Anyone have any...

Loud Thumping Noise When Turning Right

Or Viscous coupling mounting bearings. The rubber mounts perish, and the vc bearings hit the steel bearing mounts, because as you turn a corner the propshaft winds up.

Hi. I changed the whole loom and checked every wire and plug before fitting it, all to no avail.

Thanks for that HD3 and sorry for not replying sooner, I somehow missed your post until now. So it's been in the garage for three weeks now, and I feel like I'm in a nightmare that I can't wake up from. All sensors have either been checked or changed, injectors likewise. I told them it has to be...

    Starter motor.....

I suppose you checked they tightened it up properly, after removing it to change the HP pump? ;)

    another black smoke thread..sorry : /

Has it got a temperature sensor on the short intake hose right at the front left of the engine, drivers side? If it has, take the plug off and clean the contacts, also prize the terminals closer with a small electrical screwdriver for better contact, and replace plug. I had this fault earlier on...
