What have you done to your Freelander today

Fitted a new cabin filter yesterday down in the passenger footwell, old one was gross, may have been the original one fitted in the factory in 2004, it was that manky. Gonna fit an EGR bypass today if the rain holds off.

    just fitted led sidelights

I see some of the led's say Canbus ready - no error, I assume that it doesn't matter if you fit these to a car that hasn't got Canbus? Not really read up on Canbus but don't think my series one has it...or am I wrong? Did a quick search and from what I can see it's Freelander 2's...

    So cold!

I always put sun tan lotion on to stop my back burning when I'm somewhere hot, that's just my Scottish complexion though. :D:pop2: 8am, Sunday morning and we've only got about 1cm of snow, pathetic.

OK chaps (and lady)I think we've established a few things in this thread which have helped me and will help other forum users in the future that use the search function. 1. I don't need nobbly tyres to do the off road driving that I will be doing 2. 235/70/16 will likely rub against my...

Ladyboy, is that a random post about tyres or the type of mens genitalia that you like looking at? :screaming_bug_eye_f:D

Cheers Mick, looks like I need to get mine off road to see what it can really do with the tyres it's got on it.

Yep, seen them now, typed that before I saw them. Looks like you had a better day than me, I drove to Manchester for a meeting then back again, luckily no snow on the road and no crashes.

Cool, that's good to know. I've no idea of the off road capabilities since I've not had it off road yet so was a bit worried about that.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'll stick with the 215's then, my thinking was that if the 235's fitted with no issues it would give more contact with the road (or mud track) so better grip and a little bit extra ground clearance. By road tyres I meant 4x4 tyres with a raod tread pattern...

Ok, yes I've used the search function but can't find the answer that I'm looking for. I've got road tyres on at the moment 215/65/16 and I'm looking at fitting a set of Geolander A/T's but not sure about the size, do I stick with 215/65/16 or will 235/70/16? What I'm not sure about is will...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Got the garage to change the brake and clutch fluids, gear changes are now much easier and the bite is a good bit higher too, it was just off the floor with the old fluid and the brakes feel firmer too Gave it an oil and filter change too. I like the look of those chrome bulbs.

    EGR Pipe

I think it's called the egr pipe, it's the metal pipe that feeds the exhaust gas into the egr valve. I fitted the egr bypass but the length of the part that comes off the main body of the bypass that the egr pipe clamps onto was to short so I cut it so that I could blank off the egr pipe and...

Buzzing whining noise after engines switched off

Hi, yup, I fitted the egr bypass hence the problem with my egr pipe, I'll cover that in my other thread. The vacuum line is blocked off but the noise was there before I did the egr bypass. It can't be something that all Freelanders do then so thats not good......

Buzzing whining noise after engines switched off

Hi, after I turn the engine off on my 04 plate TD4 there's a loud buzzing / whining noise that comes from around the battery area, is this normal and what causes it?

    EGR Pipe

It sounds like my egr pipe has got a hole in it at the corrogated section, I've not removed it yet as I've just found that's where it's leaking from, where does the other of this pipe go, how hard is it to replace and where's the best place to get a replacement pipe from? I have a 04 plate SE...

    blue smoke at start up

I've never used engine flush before but thought I might give it a go as the engine has a few miles on it and I don't know it's history. I think there's 2 camps when it comes to engine flushing, do or don't, I gues I was looking for someone to say they'd done it before and it's not a problem...
