If you can weld, have time and also mech. knowledge, nothing should really put you off! Most parts are cheap and everything can be rebuilt on SIII's. IIa is IMHO a better bet as it seemed to be built to a slightly higher 'spec' - bellhousing is stronger (friend ran a 280 bhp IIa through standard...
Friend who did this reckons it's pretty good. Have to disagree with Teflon on 4203 through standard Landy 'box - got a 4203 in a vehicle and it's worked since day one (mot'd, taxed and run flat oot @50 mph) - has been trialled, used as farm vehicle (shunting sh**e) and never fails to start...
Under 12mm (IIRC) legal but
A: difficult to check
B: Plod generally doesn't have a clue ( but will probably give you a producer anyway
c: As tyre rolls contact patch expands and depands (impands??) (wiki this :D) tyre may pinch tube.
d: unless they're not through to interior of tyre (just...
Also bulging hoses can give a spongy feel -Goodridge or local hydraulic hose manufacturer if you want to pay real prices - if master cyl leak, pedal will 'sink' (but no fluid loss - press pedal (engine no need started) and if it sinks (but no fluid loss) you have a leak back past m/cyl seal.

Mercedes 6ltr, V8 twin turbo 512hp and best of all it's cheap to run 'cos it's diesel :D . Just out of interest, what 'box are you running with that engine? and which "Jaguar" engine is it? Not taking the pi*s or owt...
Bonnet scoop off a WRX, Cossie teatray and twin-DTM tailpipes?
seriously, though, front of my 100" was modded by filling rad recess with panelling bent to same curvature as wings and a strange aluminium 18x12 slotted "tray" covering part of rad (had volvo 264/5 radiator fitted) - made it look...
Oh - I have a 4203 in a SIII and throttle cable operated - done when I got the vehicle but it works fine - will take photos and email if you want. IIRC 'full throttle' on a 4203 seems to be about 2250 rpm anyway ;)

Being from AyburrDEEn and therefore more likely to take the good name in vain than spend money, can I suggest the 'window sticker' I had made? - on the front of my 220bhp 100" (90 front end) it said (reversed) "Get The Fu*k Out Of My Way!" ? Courtesy costs nothing but an Aberdonian who wants to...
One mag (IIRC LROI) had add-on kit for sIII for (IIRC £750-ish) - power assistance from local farmer's union - about £100 if you know what to ask (and how to ask)
2.25 diesel, 2.5 diesel, 200tdi, nissan 6cyl diesel, mazda t/c (Perkins) 4cyl , lpg v8.
Got all of them in buggies. Best IMHO mazda diesel & hc V8 (petrol) - sh*t mpg but scared beemers at 120mph+. (90 front end and modded rad mountings)
Just joined - series hexpert!(well, I know them a bit) Had a sh**ty year and past few years were cr*p too. Want mud*y years and a new life (I'm tax-exempt) and son will be rebuilt on a pre-73 plate so he is too (reg'd 1994 but wants to play with old L/R's too!) Getting shot of 30+ LR's and 12...
