I think you'll find there's nothing wrong with the car ,mine was just the same,I had mine remapped and never looked back ,totaly transformed the car , it now powers uphill with bags of tourqe
sorry charlesy ,air bleed valve in left hand union pointing to back of car as yours is ..your 2 unions pointing to the front of the car will be empty....Rob
The two diagrams on page 2 indicate the early fuel filter housing set up with just an air bleed valve (Rave) and the later set up with the non return valve (microcat)
my 51 reg td5 only has a air bleed valve in the front left union all the other 3 are empty.i know at a later date landrover started putting a non return valve in the back lefthand union as microcat shows .when i bought my td5 it had a starting problem ,every time it had been stood for a period...
As tottot says start it without belt on see if the noise is still present, when mine gave up the ghost it made a loud chattering noise,I fitted a second hand one which I purchased off the old eBay paid £100 for it never had any probs with it...oh and that's a barbel cheif not a carp
Think it could need recalibrating on a diagnostic tool like nanocom or autologic, I had a new compressor pump fitted and had to have it on autologic to recalibrate height because it kept sagging at the back every time I parked up ,it's got nothing to do with leaking hope this helps......Cheers Rob
Yeah Mike just left my house after remapping my Td5 ,horrible bloke who drinks all your tea and then charged me an extortionate 225 quid. So all you Td5 drivers thinking about getting your truck remapped don't bother...And next time i see you i'll be flying by you going up that f*cking steep...
make sure your relay is'nt sticking .it's in your engine bay fuse box and looks like a little yellow square box ,take it out tap it with screw driver handle and put back in .look on the under side of fuse box lid to locate
Rob
Do you mean fuel pressure regulator ? Is it leaking from under the engine ? If so think the part for a genuine landrover one should be around the £120 mark
I have a part number vub5039950 which is described as a non return valve kit. My friend works at a landrover indy garage and he as microcat on his computer and this says that the nrv is in the left side back pipe but when i took my pipes off it was in the left side front pipe and now i'm...
mine had to be recalibrated with textbook after i had new compressor fitted. For no reason it kept dropping down on to it's bump stops overnight. After recalibration it was fine
