I love the pub:)! I have been doing some renovation/rebuilding of my engine recently and wanted to make it look as though some proper work had been done. Talking to a few pals down at my local and asked if any one had any idea what sort of paint I could use on my rocker covers to spruce them...

The mod to put RRC seats in usually leaves the frame intact but you weld a plate onto it to fix the replacement seat to. The rears were a straight swap. I have been looking for RRC seats for a while, none about. Unfortunately, like Shocker, I am a bit far away, and he got in first.

I did have rubber gaskets which have now been binned. I cant find any more of the "things" so I'll have to assume the other three are in the bin as well. Thanks for the info guys.

Thanks for quick reply. So should I look for the rest of them or just put it all back together with my fingers and toes crossed? It's the first V8 head gasket job I have done.

I have taken the heads off my 1995 3.9Efi disco and found these loose on the heads after taking the rocker shafts off. I cant see anywhere they may have come from or find any other than the five I have. Help please I want to get it all back together now heads skimmed.

Sorry I can't help, but I have been asking if P38 seats fit for a while and could never get an answer. I know RR classic seats fit but I can never find any the right colour, plenty of P38 seats available though. I shall wait with interest to see what this thread brings!

It sounds as though you may have a combination of both problems above. After you have checked the actuator have a look at the first thread in this section re door springs.

I think you'll be unlucky, I'm fairly sure 433mhz didn't start until VIN MA onwards, or possibly late LA, but fingers crossed for you.

If you haven't managed to start this yet, when you do, as you have duct taped the glass put more duct tape over the frame to hold the glass in place. It should then lift out with the frame saving you a lot of aggro with cleaning out bits of glass.

Further point, if I remember correctly there is a spacer or something similar on the bolt on the lower inside rear of the door which you can lose into the depths if your not careful. (I think!!)

It isn't different. I had to replace the channel on one of mine, that is by far and away the hardest part of the job. The channel has a rubber insert which grips the glass, as said above you need lots of soap, a rubber mallet and patience. Put the glass on a rolled up blanket or something...

Sorry I can't help you on that, I'm a petrol man. I just know that is where the P gasket is on a TDi. Hopefully somebody else will be along to put you right.

The tow bar connectors are behind the trim just above where you would have seen them going up through the floor. Glad you're sorted.

Sorry I can't answer your query but a few things you may need to know. LPG tanks only fill up to about 80% of their volume. The "gauge" is notoriously unreliable, mine gets more greens as the tanks empty!! When you have solved your filling problem use your trip meter as a guide as to when...
