    Dampers.........

If yours is the same as mine, just take enough out to make it look the same. Pretty sure it was about 40-50mm. I took it out the middle so two cuts but it meant I could keep it looking like it's meant to be that way. I'm sure you could cut an extra 10-15mm off if you want, I also know if I...

    Dampers.........

Without it fouling what? I just hacked a lump out of it to get it more or less level with the fuel tank. I'd've got rid of it altogether but a mate advised me to leave it as it helps to protect the tank so I've got the best of both worlds.

    Dampers.........

By the way, in the bottom picture you can see my heavily modified tow bar. I cut about 50mm out of the middle of it and welded it back together, I also moved the two pieces of angle higher up - it doesn't catch the floor as much and is still there to help to protect the fuel tank.

That's the plan then paul, I was thinking similar in a lot of ways but think I'll wait until I can afford lower turrets.

    Dampers.........

Agreed paul, MORE PICCIES! Looking at the spring, I think it'll stay put - looks like it'll drop a little bit more but not much. How big a difference would doing similar to the front make? in half a mind to leave it alone.

    Any one got

Sadly, I can't mate - it's fitted. I think you'll find the wireing would be the same as for after market fog lights etc, i.e. a relay, switch etc. I guess the relay's one that's on a timer of some sort but it's not really a hardship to turn it on and off yourself is it.

    Any one got

Yes, but I need them, sorry. Can't be that hard to make your own wires up and find a suitable switch though?

    Dampers.........

Lol, I thought they'd blown things out of proportion at the time (i.e. nothing unusual about changing alsorts of bits and pieces) I thought something had snapped at the wrong time and he'd become a scape goat to a certain extent - I didn't know a lot of what's been mentioned. Just had a look...

    Dampers.........

Thought you might be redhand, knowing what it's like on ere ;) the reasoning being; ****part's dropper plates are about 6mm, box on mine totals 12mm so it's just down to the welds, which I know what I'm doing- they could be tidyer but I was trying to be quick so as not to burn the **** outta...

    Dampers.........

ok,ok I know all about matey's little swimming trip - it was local. I'm a qualified mechanic and time served welder/fabricator, I'm happy it's safe. If you guys don't like it, fair enough.

  17. T

    Dampers.........

good point redhand, I'll see what I can alter anyway - might come down to changing something at the bottom. PICCIES! :D Dunno if they'll last or not, and before anyone says it I know I'm gonna need new bushes.

    Dampers.........

Right, all done! Will post pictures later or tomorow, used 25X25X3mm box 45mm long. The top Half of the damper originally measured 285mm and now measures 325so I've gained 40mm, Still haven't looked at the front though.

    advice please

Tell yer what, you need to look on everytrail search for laning route iirc - haven't got time to p.m. all of you but it's easy enough to find. The guys that did it might've been exagerating about 200miles of lanes though (they were trying to get me to go but I was skint at the time)

    Dampers.........

I used to work in an m.o.t place and thought they were required but wasn't 100% sure, hence the question, guess I'll have to get some then. If anyone's interested, paddocks does them dropper plates for about £20-25 a pair. I'm gonna hack the ring at the top off (where the bush is) and weld an...
