    Wonky back end

The springs sag over time too, Usually fairly evenly but possibly not always. I put 2" lift springs on mine and they lifted it by 3" at the front and 4.5" at the back!!

    Another question - smoke!!

Does it "puff" out of it or just kinda drift out? Did you remove the injectors? If it puffs, I'd try a new injector seal (washer) in it. If it just smokes, my guess would be you got oil/degreaser down the hole and when it gets hot it smokes, in which case it'll burn off in its own time.

    rear donut

Would a 200tdi flange fit my late (98) 300tdi then? I know there's 10 and 24 (iirc) spline diff's but I don't know if this flange is different or if it's the half shafts? If not, what would I need?

Help in Skegness area for tea and a cake!

:D Fanatic's right though, and make sure the stop solenoid is getting power and working and that the glow plugs all work.

Help pls, air in fuel supply

Not much it could be then, sedimenter or fuel pipe or any of the joints along the way.

    rear donut

fair enough, I assume the 200 prop has one each end then wheras the 300 only has one at the gearbox end (having never seen one off a 200tdi).

    rear donut

neither would a prop without a donut though?

Help pls, air in fuel supply

only one I've ever seen was a 110 with rotten steel pipes on top of sender unit, might be worth a look. cant think which way round it is, is the filter before the lift pump? if it is, have you tried it's input in your barrel of fuel?

    rear donut

Is there any reason you can't get a local engineering firm to make a steel donut for you? just out of curiosity.....

Wheel Nuts.....Am I missing something here?

    Oi, speak for yerself!! :p

    Too Rotton or not

Fair comment, I meant in general really; if you stick to what I said you can't go far wrong. Personally I think it'd pass at that but why not sort it anyway, discos have enough leaks as it is....

Wheel Nuts.....Am I missing something here?

I'll tell you what's up - for a tenner........ Nah, I'll let you off, they rust under the shiny caps and bulge so 27mm won't get them. 28mm will sometimes but careful not to round them off.

    Too Rotton or not

 Think even I would give up on that one! Just patch it, that's what I'm doing at the moment. If it's got a hole in it or you can make a hole in it with a little hammer and is within 12" of something important (seatbelt mounting, chassis, suspension mountings etc) it'll fail.

    Help for a newbie please.

Gasket's are very cheap too, think even an official one is only a few quid so I wouldn't worry about it. Rust, gearbox/diff noises and heavy smoke on start up or when revved would be more of a concern - a little dark grey to black smoke is no problem (ever seen a lorry going uphill?) blue...

    Rear inner wing floor replacement

Haha 20mm odd of tread, fail that ****er:D dunno about speed ratings, worked in mot places but never heard anything about that, might be one of those things that usually obviously doesn't need checking though.

    Just the decat down pipe?

Being a tight git who's handy with a welder, I just hacked my cat out and welded a bit of pipe in and the same with the backbox, never noticed any difference in power or mpg though.......

    Rear inner wing floor replacement

 I'm just starting to realise how much welding a landrover can need. In that case, and assuming you can get hold of replacement pannels. If I were you I'd cut the old ones off, leaving the welded part behind so you've got a thicker bit to weld to, they'll sit slightly further out...
  18. T

    Rear inner wing floor replacement

I'd imagine they're spot welded and smeared with horrible sticky stuff to make sure they're water tight. you're probably better off patching them though as they're not seen.
  19. T

    welding costs !?

that'll be because you went for a stick welder rather than mig. If the o.p's interested I've got a little mig welder I'd sell, Needs a bit of tlc but sound - £40, no bottle with it though (use gasless wire, problem solved), Can't garantee anything but my old man had it working when he got it...
