Programmed a new key fob to my new (to me) Freelander that came with only one key.

Bought a new fob on eBay for £30 quid last week. Very easy to program with the Launch X431 (??) We have at work. If anyone Dorset way needs it doing it really is a 30 second job.

Yeah it's something I'd read and considered but a proper key is less than 3% of what I paid for the car, so not really a lot of money considering.

I'm in a very similar position. 2003 SE recently bought, with only 1 key and no remote. I've purchased a refurbished genuine remote from eBay, with the intention to program it at work using our Launch X431 software. £25 on eBay, so hopefully that will work. As for a spare key, I popped into...

:) Don't stop learning as soon as you finish school eh! :D :o So IF they had clutch cables, and it snapped... would it be those symptoms? Just trying to regain something!

Did say I didn't know any more than him :D Can someone explain to me why that's obviously not the case?

I doubt I know anything more than you do, but if it's a manual - could the clutch cable have snapped? Would explain why there's no need to use the clutch to get into gear/no grinding noises? From what I've read you can check underneath the Disco and have a visual check.

That was meant for why the towbar was coming off, not for why I won't put Jate rings on it, because i will :D

Yeah Jate rings will be going through the chassis, but seeing as 1) I have no reason to tow, and 2) I don't have a driving licence letting me tow! I doubt I will be doing any.

Thanks. Only reason I ask is 99% of the Disco's I've been looking at have them fitted - I would very rarely use it so would probably take it off, but would be handy to keep in the barn incase I did want to.

How are the towbars fitted, as standard, on Disco 1's? Are they bolted or welded to the chassis? How 'removable' are they?

Have a look through the disco section, if the heaters blow, but cold air there's been a few cases where it's the HG. If they don't blow at all, it obv. not that.

I had this on my Peugeot, had changed the calliper only a few months before so knew it wasn't that. The flexi-hose to the calliper had collapsed, so for a few quid buy some new hose and change that first. Cheaper than a calliper!

£3100 is the cheapest Flux can give me! TPFT that is. But at the moment I have the most 'spare' cash I'll have for a while, so why not spend it on a Landy? Is probably the only time this side of 25 ill be able to afford to run it.

When you put the difflock on and the wheels turns at different speeds to each other, there is 'tension' build up in the drive system. So if you reverse this tension is released, hopefully making the difflock light go out! :D

We sell all the bulbs at work, 100/80 are illegal, blue or standard colour. The deep blue 60/55 are illegal too. Best LEGAL alternatives are the Xenon +100%, we sell the Ring ones. You can get the 'tinted' blue 60/55 which are legal and give a slightly blue look, similar to the HID's.
