I had something similar, when driving try VERY carefully pulling the handbrake and see if the noise stays or goes. I did shoes, retaining pins, cable and oil seal whilst I was in there....solved it. DO NOT YANK THE HANDBRAKE OR PULL IT ALL THE WAY UP

Does it only "growl" when driving. If you have the stick in N and hold at 2000rpm can you hear it then??

It has 5 connectors and a black round plug. The 5 connectors go on the injectors and the round plug pushes up from a cut out in the head, when you put the new one in, I always just wipe a tiny bit of oil on the O ring just to help it in and prevent the o ring rolling. It just pushes in. Then...

Loom is a piece of cake to change over. New rocker gasket, jobs a good un. I had oil in the red plug, changed the loom and cleaned out the plug, had to clean it a few times over the period of a couple of months but every time got less and less. I just cleaned it out with electrical cleaner...

You got it, and bought an anchor for emergencies.....I just throw it out of the gap in the top of the door!!! On a serious note, my vote is for a new servo.......last thing you want is a brake failure.

I think I took the sound deadening off off when I did the rocker gasket and injector loom just to make sure that the half moon on the rocker cover seated properly. Couldn't comment on noise difference. I've got no carpets and mud terrains, sound proofing is not high on my list!

I don't think it's got bushes....the bolts go through the 2 bottom tabs on number 6 in the picture. The top tab has a little press in fixing that the loom attaches too.....I think. Can't remember if it made much difference but there's a piece of sound deadening/engine trim that's also bolted to...
