    eas kit

As Saint, Wammers and datatek will verify, I spent a week with mine dancing all over the place, with me saying 'I numbered them before I took them off, I can't get them back in the wrong order' but sure enough. Never doubted any of them since :D But, you say the drivers side is not going up...

Range rover p38 no side lights

if both bulbs are new, check they're not blown - especially if they are a halfrauds or petrol station or ebay purchase.....I think a continuity test should do it if you can't see the filament.

    Noisy Tappets??

Cheers All. Forthbridge - that was pretty much where I'm at at the mo. Get the intake and rocker covers off so I can at least see the cam & rockers, then make the call as to what needs to be replaced. SmileySteve - Thanks, but I'm fairly certain its not pinking (had that on other cars...

To Arnott or not to Arnott.

Hi dave, I put Gen IIs on mine, with terrafirms shocks on the front. No issues with the ride, but equally, nothing that far beyond the previous dunlops. Get yourself a fitting kit at the same time (only a few quid from Island) - that way you don't need to worry about getting a bit...

    Noisy Tappets??

she's done just over 100K, no idea if its the original, but if I've got it apart enough to look at the lobes, it's not that much more to take apart to replace from what I can see!!

    Noisy Tappets??

I've seen a few metions of the pipercross cam, is it really worth it? the missus is gonna do her nut when I tell her £425 for the kit :D Obviously I don't want to go anywhere near britpart for it, but is there anything in between?

    Noisy Tappets??

Hi again. Right, nice day so I've been looking into this more. Took the heatshield off and ran it, no noticeable leaks from the manifold. Did a compression test, 178-180 across all 8 cylinders, with the exception of No.2 which was at 170. I'm quite pleased with the result from a head...

    Noisy Tappets??

Thor, What's the thoughts behind this? I've done a couple of hundred miles on petrol now, and, although it may just be wishful thinking, but I think it might be improving  Cheers Marc

    Noisy Tappets??

Thanks Steve. Presumably the only way to fully rule out the cam is to strip it down. Is that a mare of a job, that ends up being one of those jobs that 'while I've got it this far apart I might as well replace............' ending up costing £000's :D I'll give the brake fluid a try...

    Noisy Tappets??

That was my first thought (tappets / lifters). But, no increase in noise when listening thru a screwdriver and the oil that came out at service (mebbe 1500miles after the noise started) was completely clean, nothing on the sump plug at all. How does a compression test show up worn camshaft or...

    Noisy Tappets??

It doesn't seem to make a great deal of difference to be honest, which is why I'm leaning away from tappets. It does sound quite metallic though, so not sure on the manifold idea, but if no improvement running on petrol for the next couple of days I will try to get the heatshield off at the...

    Noisy Tappets??

Thanks guys, Will try running her on petrol for work tomorrow (so around 90 miles). I'd wondered manifold, but I can't see any evidence (EAS hasn't gone wrong yet!!!). Should've said in my first post too, I've put a screwdriver up to the rocker cover, and can hear the cam spinning, but...

    Noisy Tappets??

Hi all. Looking for some advise on a new noise :) Couple of months ago my rangie (MY2000 4.6 Thor with multipoint LPG) started making noises which I first thought to be a sticky tappet. As it was due a service I didn't worry too much and waited to see what it would be like after an oil...

    Led fuses

reckon a continuity check on the multimeter would be cheaper!!! Or just looking at the fuse.... :D

    faultmate msv2

The Faultmate MSV2 Extreme also has its own screen, as well as being able to attach to laptop for more functionality, but means you can leave it in the rangie without worrying about a laptop being charged. Big money (bought mine before joining the forum and hadn't seen the Nanocom), but...

    Saint.V8

If the blue wire was disconnected, chances are it was done for a reason. Check that you've got the latest rf model (Datatek posted pics of all three type a day or so ago). If it is an old version, you could end up with dead battery and possibly locks buring out. Simple fix, but not that...

Sorry, should've said its a multipoint, so I guess no issues on that then :) (although I'd quite like a fart flap!!!)
